Overview

Zhuangzi is an Honor of Kings MOBA hero AND one of the Three Sages of Jixia Academy in Honor of Kings: World's lore. However, he is NOT in the verified S0 Season launch roster (April 10, 2026) as a playable Resonance. His role at launch is as an NPC Jixia Academy sage and the creator of Dreaming Word Lakeside (梦语湖畔), a dream-training ground named after him.

Zhuangzi is not in the confirmed S0 Season launch roster of Honor of Kings: World (April 10, 2026). The verified 11 S0 Resonances are: Child of the Primal Flow, Dongfang Yao, Xi Shi, Meng Ya, Master Lu Ban, Sun Bin, Wang Zhaojun, Jialuo, Mulan, Kai, and Leng Chun. Zhuangzi has appeared in pre-launch trailers or demos in some cases, but has not been officially confirmed as a playable Resonance at the S0 launch. Any specific HoKW ability descriptions on earlier versions of this page should be treated as unverified.

Role in HoKW Lore

Zhuangzi is one of the Three Sages who lead Jixia Academy alongside Fuzi and Mozi. Baidu Baike primary text confirms that Zhuangzi created Dreaming Word Lakeside (梦语湖畔) as a dream-training ground where students can explore meditative and Flow-based self-cultivation. His philosophical tradition within Jixia corresponds to Taoist-style contemplation, contrasting with Fuzi's Martial Way and Mozi's Mechanism Way.

Historical and Philosophical Background

The historical Zhuangzi (c. 369 to 286 BCE) is one of the founding philosophers of Chinese Taoism, and the text bearing his name, the Zhuangzi (庄子), is a foundational Taoist work alongside the Dao De Jing. He is famous for the "butterfly dream" parable, in which he questions whether he is Zhuangzi who dreamed he was a butterfly or a butterfly now dreaming he is Zhuangzi. The theme of reality versus dream directly informs his HoKW role as the creator of a dream training ground.

MOBA Identity

In the Honor of Kings MOBA, Zhuangzi is a support hero whose kit features dream-themed abilities, shields, and crowd control. Earlier pre-launch Honor of Kings: World coverage suggested his HoKW adaptation would shift him toward a tank role, but his S0 launch status is as an NPC Sage, not a playable Resonance. If he is added as a playable Resonance in a future season, his kit is likely to emphasize area shields, sustained healing, or dream-magic crowd control.
