Overview

Zhou Yu is a mage-class hero in Honor of Kings: World. Based on the brilliant military strategist of the Wu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms era, Zhou Yu's Flow style channels devastating fire-based abilities. His kit revolves around controlling the battlefield with walls of flame, targeted fire strikes, and a devastating ultimate that recalls his legendary fire attack at the Battle of Red Cliffs.

Historical inspiration

Zhou Yu (175–210 CE) was the chief military strategist of Sun Quan's Wu Kingdom. He is most famous for orchestrating the fire attack at the Battle of Red Cliffs, one of the most decisive battles in Chinese history, where a coalition fleet used fire ships to destroy the much larger forces of Cao Cao. His association with fire strategy is the direct inspiration for his in-game abilities.

Playstyle

Zhou Yu is a zone-control mage who excels at area denial and sustained damage. His fire abilities persist on the ground, creating dangerous zones that enemies must navigate around. This makes him particularly effective in dungeon encounters and against bosses that move predictably, as the player can pre-position fire zones in the boss's path.

Relationship to Xiao Qiao

In both history and the Honor of Kings universe, Zhou Yu is married to Xiao Qiao. The game acknowledges this relationship through story content and potential gameplay synergies when both characters' Flow styles are equipped together.
