New hero article covering Wang Zhaojun's ice abilities
Wang Zhaojun is a mage-class hero in Honor of Kings: World. Another of the Four Beauties of ancient China, Wang Zhaojun commands ice and frost magic. Her Flow style focuses on freezing enemies in place, slowing their movements, and shattering frozen targets for massive burst damage.
Wang Zhaojun (circa 50–15 BCE) was a Han dynasty court lady who was sent to marry a Xiongnu chieftain as part of a diplomatic alliance. She traveled to the cold northern steppes, and her association with cold, remote lands is the thematic basis for her ice powers in the Honor of Kings franchise. The melancholy of her story is reflected in the visual design of her abilities, which combine beauty with lethal cold.
Frost bolt: ranged ice projectile that slows enemies on hit
Blizzard: summons a localized snowstorm that continuously damages and slows enemies in an area
Frozen domain: creates a field of ice that freezes enemies who remain in it too long
Absolute zero: ultimate that flash-freezes all enemies in range, dealing massive damage when they shatter
Wang Zhaojun's abilities apply stacking cold to enemies. When cold stacks reach maximum, the target freezes solid. Frozen enemies take greatly increased damage from the next hit and are completely unable to act. The shatter mechanic makes her a natural partner for high-burst melee styles—freeze with Wang Zhaojun, swap to a heavy-hitting style, and shatter the target.
