Overview
The Ringblade (also called the Ring Blade or Chakram in some translations) is one of the four weapon types available within the Primal Flow fighting style in Honor of Kings: World. It is a circular bladed weapon that the Flowborn wields with fast, sweeping motions. Among the four Primal Flow weapons, the Ringblade has the fastest attack speed and the widest area coverage per swing, making it the go-to option for dealing with groups of enemies.
The Ringblade is available from the start of the game as part of the Flowborn's innate Primal Flow style. It does not need to be unlocked separately. Players can switch to it at any time during combat by pressing the corresponding weapon input.
Combat Characteristics
The Ringblade's defining strength is its speed. It has the fastest attack speed of the four Primal Flow weapons (Ringblade, Sword, Spear, and Hammer), allowing players to land many hits in rapid succession. Each swing traces a wide, spinning arc around the character, giving it natural area-of-effect coverage without requiring precise aiming.
Visually, the Ringblade's attacks are among the most flashy in Primal Flow. The weapon spins and arcs through the air with trails of energy, creating a visually distinctive combat feel. The spinning animations also reflect its mechanical function: the wide arcs mean each attack has a chance to clip multiple enemies standing near each other.
In terms of raw damage per hit, the Ringblade sits at the lower end compared to the Hammer or even the Sword. Individual strikes deal less damage, but the sheer number of hits per second compensates for this. The Ringblade's damage output is competitive when measured over time rather than per swing.
Best Use Cases
The Ringblade excels in crowd control situations where the player faces multiple weaker enemies at once. Its wide swings hit several targets simultaneously, clearing groups faster than the single-target focused Spear or the slow Hammer. Open-world encounters with packs of smaller creatures are where the Ringblade shines brightest.
Because of its rapid hit rate, the Ringblade is also the best Primal Flow weapon for building combo counters quickly. Combo count matters for certain Flow energy mechanics and damage multipliers, so starting a fight with Ringblade attacks to rack up a high combo count before switching to a heavier weapon for a finisher is an effective strategy.
The Ringblade also works well for maintaining offensive pressure while staying mobile. Its fast recovery between swings means the player can weave in dodges and repositioning between attacks without losing momentum. This makes it useful against enemies with frequent but telegraphed attacks, where the player needs to attack, dodge, and resume attacking quickly.
Combo Potential and Weapon Switching
One of the Ringblade's greatest strengths lies in its role as a combo starter within Primal Flow's weapon switching system. Because players can swap weapons mid-combo without interruption, the Ringblade's quick hits serve as an ideal setup for heavier follow-ups.
A widely used technique is to open with several Ringblade strikes to build combo count and Flow energy, then switch to the Hammer for a charged finishing blow that benefits from the built-up momentum. This Ringblade-to-Hammer chain is one of the most efficient damage sequences available in Primal Flow.
Alternatively, players can alternate between the Ringblade and the Sword for a sustained mid-range combo that balances speed and per-hit damage. The Ringblade can also set up transitions into the Spear for ranged poking after closing the distance on a group of enemies.
Limitations
The Ringblade's main weakness is its lower per-hit damage. Against single tanky enemies such as bosses or elite monsters with large health pools, the Ringblade alone may not deal enough damage quickly enough. In these situations, switching to the Hammer or Sword for direct damage is more effective.
The Ringblade is also less effective at breaking enemy posture compared to the Hammer. The Posture Break System rewards heavy, staggering blows, and the Ringblade's light, rapid strikes contribute less posture damage per hit. Players focused on triggering posture breaks should switch to a heavier weapon when the posture gauge is nearly full.
Finally, the Ringblade's wide arcs can sometimes make it harder to focus damage on a single target in a group. When the goal is to eliminate one specific enemy quickly (such as a healer or ranged attacker in a mixed group), the Sword or Spear may be more precise.
Tips
Use the Ringblade as your default opener in most encounters to build combo count before switching weapons. Start fights with a flurry of Ringblade hits, then transition to a heavier weapon once you have momentum. Against bosses, save the Ringblade for phases where the boss summons additional enemies, and switch to the Hammer or Sword for the boss itself. Practice the Ringblade-to-Hammer combo chain early, as it remains one of the most useful techniques throughout the entire game.
