Reframe as MOBA-legacy hero confirmed in HoKW but not in S0 launch
Li Bai is an Honor of Kings MOBA hero and one of the most celebrated figures in the franchise. He has appeared on the official Honor of Kings: World hero data page at world.honorofkings.com, which indicates that TiMi has confirmed him as part of the broader HoKW cast. However, he is NOT in the verified S0 Season launch roster (April 10, 2026) of 11 playable Resonances. His S0 launch status is therefore "confirmed in HoKW but not at launch," suggesting he may be added in a future season.
Li Bai is not in the confirmed S0 Season launch roster of Honor of Kings: World (April 10, 2026). The verified 11 S0 Resonances are: Child of the Primal Flow, Dongfang Yao, Xi Shi, Meng Ya, Master Lu Ban, Sun Bin, Wang Zhaojun, Jialuo, Mulan, Kai, and Leng Chun. Li Bai has appeared in pre-launch trailers or demos in some cases, but has not been officially confirmed as a playable Resonance at the S0 launch. Any specific HoKW ability descriptions on earlier versions of this page should be treated as unverified.
The historical Li Bai (701 to 762 CE) was one of the most celebrated poets of the Tang Dynasty and one of the greatest poets in Chinese history. He is remembered for his lyrical verses about wine, the moon, nature, and wandering. His romantic legend portrays him as a wandering scholar-poet who valued freedom and spontaneity over official office. In popular culture he is often associated with a sword and with poetic improvisation.
In the Honor of Kings MOBA, Li Bai is an assassin hero who wields a longsword and whose kit emphasizes fast aerial combos and burst damage. His MOBA signature is his ability to chain sword strikes rapidly and close distance with dash attacks. In Honor of Kings: World, his kit is likely to be adapted into a 强攻 (Offensive) assassin Resonance when he is added.
Li Bai is also notable because of the franchise-level collaboration between Honor of Kings and Hugo Award-winning author Liu Cixin. Liu's 1997 short story "Poetry Cloud" (诗云) features a godlike being attempting to surpass the poet Li Bai by computationally generating every possible Chinese poem. Tencent has cited this story as a touchstone for the broader Liu Cixin partnership with the Honor of Kings franchise. Whether "Poetry Cloud" themes appear directly in Honor of Kings: World has not been confirmed, but Li Bai's presence in the game creates the thematic possibility for that connection to pay off in a future season.
