Added structured Move Set table, Reward Block detail, and clearer breakthrough gating callout
Coiled-Thorn Enclosure (盘荆重篱, Pánjīng Zhònglí) is a Wave Flow breakthrough boss in Honor of Kings: Worldfought as a pre-Chapter 3 progression gate. Defeating this boss allows the player's Wave Flow level to break past one of its 10-level thresholds, expanding dungeon difficulty caps and hero progression ceilings.
The Coiled-Thorn Enclosure is fought in an outdoor location on the approach to Chapter 3 'Shining Stars' content in the West Yunluo Highlands. It gates progression for players who attempt to push into Chapter 3 without first clearing the Wave Flow breakthrough.
The boss is slow-moving and relies primarily on arm-sweep attacks. Its kit consists of:
Arm sweeps: Wide horizontal arm motions that telegraph clearly. Dodge or reposition away from the center.
Cannon bursts: Fired when HP drops below a threshold. Ranged attacks that require lateral dodges.
Small add summons: Quick-striking smaller enemies flank the player, breaking focus on the main boss.
Chapter 3 walkthrough, the recommended approach is:
Prioritize the smaller summoned enemies first. Leaving them alive causes too much flanking pressure.
Once adds are cleared, the main boss becomes manageable. Its arm sweeps are slow enough that standard combos land safely between telegraphs.
When the boss starts firing cannon bursts, reposition to a side angle and continue pressure.
Use Perfect Dodge on the obvious telegraphs to build counter pressure and stagger the boss into Vulnerable state.
Defeating Coiled-Thorn Enclosure completes the Wave Flow breakthrough for that tier, raising the player's World Level by +1. The completion also yields breakthrough-specific materials for hero and weapon upgrades, along with progression XP.
Attack | Behavior | Counter |
|---|---|---|
Wide Arm Sweep | Slow horizontal arm motion across the front arc | Dodge or reposition away from the centerline; Perfect Dodge the apex of the swing for counter pressure |
Cannon Burst | Triggered when HP drops below the first threshold; ranged projectile burst aimed at the player | Lateral dodges in series, then close back in once the burst ends |
Add Spawn | Smaller fast-striking enemies flank the boss to break combat focus | Clear adds first to prevent flanking pressure; the main boss telegraphs are slow enough to wait through while clearing |
The Chapter 3 walkthrough recommends prioritizing the smaller summoned enemies first because they cause too much flanking pressure if left alive. Once adds are cleared, the main boss becomes manageable. Standard combos land safely between arm-sweep telegraphs. When the boss starts firing cannon bursts, reposition to a side angle and continue pressure, using Perfect Dodge on telegraphs to build counter pressure and stagger the boss into Vulnerable State.
Reward Type | Detail |
|---|---|
World Level | Defeating Coiled-Thorn Enclosure raises the player's World Level by +1 once the breakthrough completes. |
Wave Flow Cap | Lifts the Wave Flow level cap for that tier; later breakthrough bosses raise it further. See World Level and Wave Flow Progression for the full ladder. |
Materials | Drops breakthrough-specific materials used for hero and weapon upgrades. |
Progression XP | Awarded on first clear; subsequent runs are not the primary farming target since this boss is a one-off gate, not a daily-reset Calamity Beast. |
The encounter functions strictly as a progression gate. Players who attempt to push into Jixia Chapter 3: Shining Stars without clearing this breakthrough will hit the Wave Flow ceiling before the chapter's harder fights become tractable.
