April 11, 2026 Hotfix
April 18, 2026 at 04:40 PM
Initial version (2026-04-18)
On April 11, 2026 at 13:50 Beijing Time, TiMi Studio Group pushed the first post-launch mid-patch for Honor of Kings: World. The hotfix was deployed to the PC client without taking the servers offline, was approximately 380 kilobytes in download size, and did not affect the mobile client (which was still in its pre-download window at the time).
The hotfix is a small, targeted patch rather than a broad content drop. It covers three areas: startup performance, two Primal Flow Resonance breakthrough challenges that had unclear completion conditions, one Blade of Destruction Resonance breakthrough challenge rewrite, and a controller vibration settings bug. Shader compile stutter once the game is in play was not directly addressed by this hotfix.
The hotfix optimised the shader preheat strategy so that the first launch of the client after installing the S0 build takes noticeably less time. The affected code path is the pre-gameplay preheat pass that runs during the splash screen. In-game shader compile stutter when new effects appear for the first time was not part of this change and was listed as 'optimisation in progress' in the day-one Q&A.
Two of the Primal Flow Resonance breakthrough challenges were renamed and retuned. The challenge text on the pre-hotfix build had used theme labels that players could not directly map to the required skill execution, which produced a flood of first-day 'how do I complete this challenge' threads.
Initial Enlightenment (初悟): breakthrough theme renamed from 'One-Instant Torrent' (一瞬洪流) to 'Fate-Breaking Strike' (破命一击).
Advanced Refinement (精进): breakthrough theme renamed to 'One-Instant Torrent' (一瞬洪流), and the completion condition relaxed from three casts to two casts.
The two challenges effectively swapped thematic labels, and the tougher one had its required-cast count reduced. Players who had already attempted the pre-hotfix version did not have their progress invalidated; the completion counter continued against the new requirement.
The initial breakthrough challenge for the Blade of Destruction (破灭刃锋) Resonance was rewritten from 'return three flying blades via parry' to 'successfully parry three times'. The original wording had suggested that the parry had to specifically redirect a projectile back at its caster, which is a stricter mechanical outcome than a normal successful parry. The rewrite removed that ambiguity and made any successful parry count toward the challenge.
A settings bug where toggling either UI vibration or in-game vibration inside the controller menu did not propagate to the device was fixed. The fix covers keyboard-and-mouse input mode and controller input mode. Cross-pad input mode was not covered and the inability to disable vibration in cross-pad mode was acknowledged as a known limitation rather than addressed.
The following day-one Q&A items remained open after the April 11 hotfix and were listed as 'optimisation in progress' or 'under investigation' through the April 15 status check:
Intel 13th and 14th generation CPU crashes: no Honor of Kings: World-specific patch was published. Community workarounds (BIOS microcode update, reduced boost ceiling, balanced power profile) remained the mitigation path.
In-game shader compile stutter: the stutter when a new effect compiles on the fly was not addressed.
Custom keybinding: remained disabled at client launch. The feature was later committed to return in the S1 Season per the Week One Report.
Launcher splash freeze: no client patch. Mitigation tips were published in the Q&A thread.
Day One Patch documents the April 10 emergency hotfix and the April 11 day-one Q&A. Week One Report (April 17, 2026) captures the first-week production team summary. Combat System explains the Perfect Dodge and parry mechanics that the Blade of Destruction challenge depends on.
