Overview

Hua is one of the first characters the player encounters in Iia. He is a young Animaster with a single-minded goal: qualify through the regional championships and earn a spot at The Amphitheater, the top competitive venue for Nexus Battles. He has spiky blue hair, wears headphones, and dresses in casual streetwear.

Note: this character is unrelated to any same-named character in a prior HoYoverse title; in HNA, Hua is an original character with no apparent link to a similarly named figure elsewhere.

Personality

Hua is fiery and enthusiastic about Nexus Battles. He approaches training and competition with a bluntness that borders on reckless. He wants to fight strong opponents and isn't especially interested in strategy or caution. His energy makes him a natural early-game companion for the player, someone who drags you into situations before you're quite ready for them.

Role in the Story

As a fellow aspiring Animaster, Hua is a peer and rival of sorts for the player character. His goal of reaching The Amphitheater gives the early game a clear target to work toward, and his eagerness to train and battle creates natural opportunities for the player to learn the Auto-Chess Combat mechanics through friendly competition.

The Iia NPC Ecosystem

Hua is part of a broader group of characters the player meets in Iia during the opening hours. Alongside him, the early roster includes Maple Manybell and Cassio Rollex (the two Deputy Arena Masters), Jalily (the Arena Master), and Kiana (a Planestrider working on behalf of the local authority). Hua's role in this ecosystem is to draw the player into the competitive side of Nexus Battles, giving the early game a peer-rival framing rather than a purely tutorial one.
