Vehicle Customization
Rideout Customs is a vehicle modification shop in Grand Theft Auto VI. The storefront copy lists it among the special destinations only open for business with the Ultimate Edition, where vehicles can be given detailed interiors, custom rims and donk styling. The same copy names One-Eyed Willie's at Lake Leonida, another Ultimate Edition destination, as a mod shop that specialises in off-road modifications and hand-painted artwork. Rockstar has not published a full list of customization options.
Custom stickers and insignias have also been confirmed. The Declasse Tulip is shown with custom stickers in Trailer 1, and the Albany Buccaneer Custom appears with a new pinstripe livery at the Stockyard car meet. The Pfister Comet S2 Cabrio confirms that functioning convertible tops are in the game.
Vehicle Interiors and Driving
Rockstar has not confirmed which camera views will be available when driving, and pre-release reports disagree on whether a first-person view will be included at launch. Vehicle interiors are modelled in detail. Working speedometers, gauges, and instrument panels are fully modeled. Rearview mirrors and side mirrors display accurate real-time reflections of the environment behind the vehicle.
Rob Nelson, co-head of Rockstar North, has reportedly said the driving model was built up from scratch for current hardware, with much finer control over drivetrain, tyre, suspension and steering tuning. He described the handling as weightier but still accessible, said the fastest cars reach much higher top speeds, and noted that powerful rear-wheel-drive cars need a more careful touch on the throttle. In the same demonstration he refuelled a low car at a gas station and remarked on how quick the fill-up was.
Vehicle Theft
Stealing a parked car takes more than a single button press. Previews of the Extended Look report that vehicles fall into security tiers: older cars can be opened with simple tools such as a slim jim, while expensive modern cars need advanced equipment such as key-cloning tools, and some cars cannot be stolen early in the story because the right equipment is unlocked through progression. Opening a lock involves a short mini-game, and the Extended Look showed prompts to either smash a window or use a slim jim. A car with a driver behind the wheel can still be taken by carjacking.
The WAINK phone app can scan a car before a theft attempt and show its estimated value, lock status, alarm and tracking technology (see In-Game Phone and Apps). Some cars carry GPS trackers that report their location to police. Stolen cars are sold through specialised vehicle fences, and visible damage lowers what a fence will pay.
Weapon Storage
Vehicles double as mobile armories. Rob Nelson has reportedly said Jason and Lucia can carry two concealed handguns and two long guns on their person (see Weapons and Combat), with additional weapons stored in vehicle trunks. This creates a strategic incentive to keep a vehicle nearby during missions.
Towing
Vehicle towing is confirmed through multiple trailer scenes. The opening shot of Trailer 1 shows a Vapid Bobcat XL towing a boat trailer with a bow rider motorboat. In Trailer 2, a Bravado Bison tows a jet ski trailer. Players can attach boats, trailers, and other towable objects via tow hitches.
Vehicle Damage
Trailer footage shows realistic, localized vehicle deformation. A large dent on the Declasse Tulip's rear door panel is clearly visible in Trailer 1. In the Extended Look, cars that lost tyres to gunfire could flip and roll several times before stopping. Rockstar has not made a specific statement about the damage engine.
Edition-Exclusive Vehicles

Alongside the June 24, 2026 pre-order reveal, Rockstar confirmed a set of vehicles tied to the game's editions. These are bonus content rather than open-world finds, but they are full in-game vehicles. The Ultimate Edition adds a '95 Grotti Cheetah, a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, a Shitzu Squalo boat, a Ganado Retro Build (exclusive mods for Jason's own Vapid Ganado pickup), a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, and a Crest kayak, plus the Classic Car Collection, a commission from local fixer Wyman to track down and restore abandoned classic and project cars. The Vintage Vice City Pack, included with all pre-orders, adds a two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier.
