Pre-Order and Editions

Overview

On June 24, 2026, Rockstar Games confirmed pricing, editions, and pre-order timing for Grand Theft Auto VI. Pre-orders opened at midnight local time on June 25, 2026 on digital storefronts and at select retailers. The game launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as a single-player experience. It ships in two editions: a Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition at $99.99. Every pre-order, and any purchase made before November 20, 2026, also includes the Vintage Vice City Pack; the console storefronts list the cutoff as 23:59:59 on November 19, 2026. One market-research firm estimated that pre-orders brought in about $260 million in their first seven days; Take-Two has not published pre-order figures.

Editions and Pricing

The $79.99 standard price is a step up from the $69.99 that defined the current console generation. Both editions are sold digitally on the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store, and at physical retailers.

Regional Prices

The PlayStation Store's regional listings carry local prices for both editions, as listed on October 13, 2026; only Mexico's prices changed from the September 23, 2026 listing. See Platforms and Editions for the matching launch unlock times.

Ultimate Edition

Rockstar describes the Ultimate Edition as amplifying "the deepest and most immersive GTA experience yet with an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story." Its bonus content is not handed over all at once; new items unlock across the campaign as players progress through each chapter.

Vehicles

More classic cars are unlocked through the Classic Car Collection (see below), a commission to track down a variety of abandoned classic and project cars; Rockstar has not said how many there are. The collection is exclusive to the Ultimate Edition.

Weapons and Activities

The Ultimate Edition adds the his-and-hers Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers and personalized variants of Jason's Girardi ES9 and Lucia's Klose K17 pistols. It also introduces the Classic Car Collection, a special commission from a collector and fixer named Wyman: players track down abandoned classic and work-in-progress project cars across Leonida, then restore them to their former glory. The edition also adds a raid on the compound of the PTT Youngin$, one of Southside Vice City's loudest gangs, where players escape with special items and contraband.

Vintage Vice City Pack

The Vintage Vice City Pack is a pre-order bonus included with all pre-orders and with any purchase made before November 20, 2026 (with physical pre-orders, while stocks last). Both console storefronts list the same cutoff as 23:59:59 on November 19, 2026. Rockstar describes it as "a collection of items that flash back to when the neon burned brightest." Rockstar publishes a dedicated gallery of 12 official Vintage Vice City Pack screenshots, alongside 51 screenshots covering Ultimate Edition benefits.

Pre-Loading and Physical Copies

Players who pre-order digital versions can begin pre-loading on November 12, 2026, a week ahead of the November 19 launch. Physical copies contain a download code inside the box rather than a disc, and are also available from November 12 to support pre-loading. Digital pre-orders include a free month of GTA+. The bundled month of GTA+ has different redemption terms on each platform: on PlayStation it must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, is limited to one redemption per account, and then renews at the regular monthly price until cancelled; on Xbox it must be redeemed within 180 days of placing the pre-order.

On the PlayStation Store the game unlocks at midnight local time on November 19, 2026 in each store region, which is midnight Eastern in the US and Canada. The unlock is set per store region rather than per player's own time zone.

Where to Pre-Order

Pre-orders have been available on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, and at select retailers since midnight local time on June 25, 2026. Before that date both console storefronts listed the game as wishlist-only. As of October 13, 2026 Rockstar's own online store also lists the game for pre-order on both consoles, including a physical code-in-box version, and states: "Physical versions will only contain a download code inside the box to support pre-load on November 12. A disc will not be included in the box."

Limited-Edition Controllers

Sony is also selling two Grand Theft Auto VI limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers, in Black and White, which launch starting November 19, 2026 at a recommended retail price of $84.99, €84.99, £74.99 or ¥12,480 including tax. The Goodtime State Vice City Collection

On September 24, 2026 Rockstar opened pre-orders on its own store for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State Vice City Collection, a premium collector's box themed on Macca the Gator, a hit television show in the game's world. The game is sold separately and is not in the box. Rockstar lists it as limited in quantity and available to ship from November 19, 2026; its reported US price is $400.

The Grand Theft Auto VI Collection

In early October 2026 Rockstar added a merchandise line to its online store, announced as "The Grand Theft Auto VI Collection" with the description "New apparel and collectibles inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI, exclusively available now at the Rockstar Store". As listed on October 13, 2026, the collection page groups the following items alongside The Goodtime State Vice City Collection box described above. The game is not part of the merchandise line.
