On 2 October 2026 the studio said it had received many comments calling some mechanics challenging or grindy and boring, and that some tasks had become chores it did not want in the game. It answered with balance changes in update 1.008, which raised the likes earned from deliveries and vendor trades and cut delivery requirements, and with a list of planned changes, among them more gears from zombies, more Faith from sermons, movable workstations and zombie workers that restart crafts on their own.
