11 The Grand Inquisitor is the player character of Graveyard Keeper 2. The store description opens on the line that you are the Grand Inquisitor now, and the role is the hinge the whole sequel turns on: the same person buries the dead, runs the factory, rebuilds the settlement and leads the army.

88 The September 2026 developer log addressed the continuity question directly. The studio wrote that they are keeping the same Keeper, then added that it is not exactly the same Keeper, and pointed players who had played the original game's Stranger Sins expansion toward the right idea. They did not elaborate further. Eight years have passed in the world of the series since the first game, and the developers say the world kept moving in its own direction without its Keeper, to nobody's benefit.
