Wraiths

Wraiths are fast, flying ghosts that appear alongside Hollow Folk in the undead areas of Albion. They were confirmed when Playground Games put the game in the hands of press and creators for the first time at gamescom 2026, in a quest called Mud and Death set inside a once-flooded, now-haunted mine.
Taken alone a Wraith is very weak. The threat is what it does to a fight rather than what it does to the Hero directly: Wraiths spawn and inhabit further Hollow Folk while the fight is going on, so a group that is ignored keeps growing instead of thinning out.
Destroying the Hollow a Wraith raised does not finish the exchange either. The Wraith emerges from the body for a second stage, which means an encounter can outlast the point where it looks won. The practical consequence is that Wraiths are a priority target, not a clean-up job.
Because they are individually fragile, speed matters more than power. In the first demo a Repeater Crossbow, which fires a rapid hail of weaker bolts, brought a Wraith down in a couple of shots, and clearing the Wraiths in a quick burst before turning to stronger enemies was the approach that kept the fight under control.
Their flight also puts them outside the reach of a slow ground weapon, which is part of why the ranged pillar earns its place in a loadout. See Style Weaving for how switching between pillars mid-fight works, and Combat System Overview for the wider structure.
The only confirmed appearance so far is the haunted mine of the Mud and Death quest, where they turn up among skeletons. The Lantern Keeper mini-boss in that same quest can actively spawn Wraiths of its own, so they also function as a boss mechanic rather than only as a standalone enemy.
Whether Wraiths appear more widely across Albion, and whether they have variants in the way Hollow Folk do, has not been stated. See Enemies and Creatures for the full confirmed roster.
