Silverbrook

Created from the official Living Population deep-dive and the June 2026 cast announcement
Silverbrook is a settlement in Albion. It is named in two separate official sources: the cast announcement of June 7, 2026, which introduced Nigel as its sheriff, and the Living Population deep-dive of June 10, 2026, which used Silverbrook as its worked example of how the game describes a town back to the player.
When the player rides into a settlement, or looks at it on the map, the game shows three things: the name of the location, the Reputation the player currently has active there, and a sentence describing the place. That sentence is its Settlement Trait, and it is not fixed.
Playground Games used Silverbrook to show that the description responds to what the player has done. In the studio's own example, a player who kills a number of residents finds the town afterwards described as "An underpopulated farming town." That phrasing is also the clearest indication of what Silverbrook normally is: a farming town.
The mechanism sits on top of the Living Population system. Every adult resident can be killed and is then removed from the world permanently, and a settlement emptied that way stays empty for a time before a repopulation system gradually brings new people in. The Settlement Trait is how the world reports that history back.
Nigel the Sheriff is Silverbrook's law, and the studio has described him as well-meaning but eternally out of his depth, struggling with both the magical threats of Albion and the villagers' disregard for him. He is voiced by Robert Whitelock and was one of the eleven roles named in the cast reveal.
Silverbrook's position on the map, its size relative to Bowerstone or Briar Hill, what it grows, whether it has its own quest thread, and which businesses or properties there can be bought have not been detailed. See Map and Regions for the confirmed geography of Albion so far.
