Updated release framing to the confirmed July 22, 2026 PC Early Access date; clarified Xbox console version planned for later in 2026 and PC Game Pass day one; added date-announcement and launch rows to release history; noted demo removal on July 6
Tears of Metal is planned to enter Early Access on July 22, 2026, on PC. As of late June 2026 the game has not yet released and is listed as coming soon. The PC version arrives through Steam and the Microsoft Store, with availability on PC Game Pass from day one. An Xbox Series X|S console version is planned to follow later in 2026, rather than alongside the PC launch.

The Xbox announcement was made during the ID@Xbox Spring Showcase in April 2026. The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning a single purchase on the Microsoft Store provides access on both PC and Xbox Series X|S once the console version is available. Paper Cult had originally targeted a Spring 2026 window but confirmed in June 2026 that it had missed that window, setting the firm Early Access date of July 22, 2026 for PC. An age rating has not been published while the game remains unreleased.
