Ghost City is a layered field of buried Celestial ruins beneath the surface of Lidon. The May 2026 gameplay reveal describes Ghost City as 'buried Celestial ruins stretching miles below the world above', and the demo follows Jun Aslan descending into them to track down a mercenary ally. The location is one of several below-Lidon sites that Archetype Entertainment showed across April and May 2026, alongside the Guarding Maze and the Foundations.
Setting
Ghost City sits in the Celestial-built strata that the human Aslan Dynasty has spent generations excavating. Walls and chambers are built from livestone, a Celestial material that the Traveler's gauntlets can shape with the Eruption ability. The demo's combat encounter takes place in a layered chamber where livestone walls divide higher ground from a lower approach, and the encounter design rewards using verticality and cover swaps rather than a head-on push.
Companions in the demo
The Ghost City mission squad in the demonstration includes Elise Charroux and Salt. Elise fights from inside a mech suit, smashing through livestone walls and firing a heavy area-of-effect ordnance called the Knockdown Missile. Salt operates from a slightly elevated position and uses the Ink Mortar, an indirect-fire ability that disrupts enemies holding higher ground. Whether either of these companions is mandatory for the mission, or whether the player can substitute other crewmates, has not been confirmed.

Player toolkit shown
Eruption (gauntlet ability) launches enemies airborne and reshapes the battlefield by raising livestone barriers.
Recycler swaps between Repeater for steady mid-range pressure and Shredder for high-impact close-quarters damage. See The Recycler and Railclaw.
Livestone glove melee strike: a hardened-fist finisher used at close range.
Waystation gadget: a lightweight deployable that lets the squad resupply mid-mission and acquire upgrades without backtracking to the ship. This is the first publicly shown checkpoint mechanic in EXODUS.
Railclaw grappling traversal to reach the higher levels of the buried structure.

Why Ghost City matters
Ghost City is the first publicly shown EXODUS environment that mixes combat encounter design with a non-trivial deployable economy (the Waystation) and explicit companion synergy. It also formalises the role of livestone as a recurring environmental element: the same material that the Traveler's gauntlets weaponise through Eruption and the Lance is also the load-bearing wall of every Celestial ruin in the demo. For the ability set used throughout the mission, see Gauntlet Abilities.
