11The Forbidden Sea is the water that covers the world of Eternal Anima. Its continents sank into it, the protagonist throws himself into it, and one of the three revealed regions floats on its surface. Beyond that it is very sparsely documented, and this page keeps to what the announcement materials actually say.2233Names445+56The Japanese materials write it 禁海, and one Japanese sentence writes it 禁断の海 instead. The Traditional Chinese materials use 禁忌之海. In English the store listing writes the Forbidden Sea in the singular, while the publisher's own English pages write the Forbidden Seas in the plural. All of those are first-party, so the plural is a genuine variance rather than an error; the singular is used throughout this wiki for consistency.6778A World Without Land89910The setting is headed, in Japanese, as a world laid waste after its continents sank into the sea. The English synopsis says the same thing in its own words: a world without land, consumed by an endless sea, in which the floating kingdom of Urvis Ael stands as the last bastion of civilisation. The sea is therefore not one feature of the setting among others; it is most of the setting. World and Setting covers what is and is not known about the continents it swallowed.10111112The Protagonist's Leap12131314After questioning the tenet that makes hoping for a better future a capital offence in Urvis Ael, Wade is branded a heretic and hunted, and throws himself into the Forbidden Sea in search of an unknown world. That leap is the pivot of the published premise, the moment the story leaves the floating city for everything below it.14151516Life on the Water16171718Port Azurea is a settlement of drifters afloat on the same sea. Its residents live freely as they please, exposed to the threats of nature and of monsters (魔物), making use of flotsam and of relics hauled up from the seabed. Neria captains the settlement's survey team, is described as unafraid of the peril-filled sea, and dreams of one day travelling the whole world, an ambition that in a world of this shape means crossing it.18191920What the Sea Gives Up20212122Recovered objects are the one economy the published material describes in any detail, and three profiles turn on them.22232324CharacterConnection to the seaWhat official copy saysFlorusSalvagerIntroduced as the woman who left her heart on the seabed, and described as sometimes gazing at a past she left at the bottom of the seaMarshBlacksmithRe-forges relics hauled up from the sea into anything from weapons to household goodsM.O.S.Salvaged automatonBuilt long ago on the Rotala Continent, it lay on the seabed for ages before being salvaged and rebooted2425Those relics are described as coming from the seabed, which is to say from the drowned world, and the automaton among them predates the sinking. No official text says whether the relics can be read by the ability described in Psychometry and Anima, however closely the two ideas sit together in the published material.25262627Its Dangers27282829The only hazards named are the ones that threaten Port Azurea: nature, and monsters. Monsters are stated to exist in the setting and to be among the threats the settlement's residents are exposed to. No specific creature, depth, storm or region of the sea has been described.29303031What Has Not Been Published31323233As of 15 September 2026 nothing published says who forbade the sea, when, or why it carries that name. Nothing states its extent, whether it covers the whole surface, whether it can be crossed, or whether sailing or navigation appears as a gameplay system at all. There is no world map, no account of when or why the continents sank, and no statement of how the protagonist survives the leap. These are gaps in the announcement material, and none of them should be filled by inference.
