Raids

Initial comprehensive raids article
Raids are the pinnacle 10-player PvE content in Chrono Odyssey, representing the most challenging group encounters in the game. Designed as a core part of the endgame loop alongside Eden and World Bosses, raids demand high gear scores, coordinated team play, and mastery of class roles. Seasonal content updates are planned to add new raid wings approximately every four months.
The standard raid format supports 10 players. Additional group sizes — including 8-player and 12-player encounters — have been mentioned in investor briefings, suggesting raid content may scale across different party configurations at launch or in post-launch updates. Weekly raid clears form a central part of the endgame loop.
Raids require substantial gear progression before entry:
500-580 Gear Score — Required for standard Mythic and Raid content. Players should have fully enhanced equipment across all 12 gear slots.
580+ Gear Score — Required for higher-tier raid encounters and seasonal challenge modes.
Gear score can be raised through both crafting and drop farming — the developers have confirmed that neither path has a distinct advantage over the other.
Chrono Odyssey's raid progression follows a horizontal model rather than the traditional vertical gear treadmill. Instead of constantly increasing power ceilings with each new raid tier, endgame gearing emphasizes lateral improvements — different stat distributions, perk combinations, and build diversity rather than raw power increases. This design philosophy aims to prevent the invalidation of previous raid content each time new encounters are added.
Raids exist within a broader endgame ecosystem:
Weekly Raid Clears — The core raid reward structure operates on weekly lockouts.
Seasonal Siege Wars — Large-scale competitive events tied to seasonal content cycles.
Time Portal Anomalies — Instanced historical battles providing supplemental gear and materials.
Void Nexus Encounters — 5-player corruption zones yielding Void Matter for high-level crafting.
Eden — PvPvE extraction content for the highest-risk, highest-reward loot.
Cosmetic hunting and collection across all endgame content types.
Separate from traditional raids, the Mythic Labyrinth is an endless-floor competitive PvE mode with escalating modifiers and a global leaderboard. While not a raid in the traditional sense, it functions as endgame content for players seeking competitive PvE progression beyond weekly raid clears.
While raids are designed for groups, Chrono Odyssey supports skilled solo players who want to attempt formidable content alone. The combat system's emphasis on parrying, dodging, and Chronotector abilities creates opportunities for highly skilled individuals to tackle content above their expected party size.
