Added a combat screenshot of Dana and her ice golem to the post-launch section
11Dana is one of the playable Heroes in DragonSword: Awakening, confirmed as part of the full-game roster at launch. She is the youngest member of the Red Fox Mercenary Corps and a self-taught alchemist who fights with ice, backing herself in combat with a golem she built by hand. Hound13 unveiled her in a dedicated Hero Trailer on July 1, 2026, roughly three weeks before the July 23 release.2233At a Glance445566FieldDetailRoleYoungest member of the Red Fox Mercenary CorpsClassAlchemistElementIce and frostWeaponA magitech gun she designed and built herselfSignatureSummons Chako, an ice golem she transmuted, to fight at her sideNickname"Little bomb"Travels withKalienRevealedJuly 1, 2026 Dana Hero Trailer77Combat8899Dana channels ice through a magitech gun that she engineered herself, the product of the arcane engineering she studied as an alchemist. Her signature move is Chako, an ice golem she transmuted with her own hands and summons into battle beside her. Chako fights in sync with Dana, mirroring her movements to spread frost across nearby enemies and adding ranged pressure with ice shards, so her kit reads as a summoner-caster built around area frost damage rather than a straightforward gunner.10101111Like every Hero, Dana anchors a Status Ailment flavour of her own and extends combos through Active Skills before closing with Signal Skills through the Switching Signals tag-team system. Hound13 showed her ice-and-golem style in the Hero Trailer without itemising which Status Ailment she stacks, and has still not named it.12121313Chako14141515Chako is the ice golem at the centre of Dana's fighting style. She did not find or tame it: she transmuted it herself through her alchemy, and it serves as her constant partner on the field. In the reveal footage Chako copies Dana's motions to launch coordinated attacks, spinning and striking in time with her to blanket the area around her in frost. The golem is the reason her combat identity leans on summon-and-sync play instead of pure ranged fire.16161717Background18181919Before she took up mercenary work, Dana researched Spirit Alchemy in Silvarantia. An unforeseen accident there cost her the colors of the world. Yet ever since, her colorless gaze is described as letting her notice things far more sparkling and precious than other people do. That off-kilter perspective is part of why she comes across as otherworldly, and it is where her nickname comes from: those who can never predict what she will do next call her the "little bomb."20202121Role in the Story22222323Dana crosses the Continent of Orbis alongside Kalien of the Red Fox Mercenary Corps. The thread running through her arc is personal: the two are searching for Dana's missing mother, who is also Kalien's dear friend. Mercenary contracts set the route across the continent while the search sets the stakes, which keeps Dana tied into the corps' work even as her own quest drives her forward. Earlier material introduced her only as Kalien's travelling companion; the July 2026 Hero Trailer confirmed her as the youngest sworn member of the corps and a playable Hero in her own right.24242525Related26262727Heroes - the full playable roster Dana belongs to.Red Fox Mercenary Corps - the mercenary outfit she is the youngest member of.Kalien - the fellow Red Fox Hero she travels with.Status Ailments - the combat layer every Hero is built around.Continent of Orbis - the open world she explores.28282929After Launch303031+3132Two of Dana's skills have been named in post-launch patch notes. Chako Spin is a summon-driven attack that was consuming the ice golem's rage when it should not have been, fixed in patch 1.0.4, and Freezy Pop is a jump attack whose tooltip carried an error corrected in the same patch. Her Hero Quest also had a fault where the character Gideon failed to spawn, cleared in patch 1.0.7, and an earlier fix restored missing characters elsewhere in the same quest. Dana is one of the five Heroes whose costume went on sale at launch.
