Dinghai: The Ocean Pillar is a single-player action roguelike RPG set in the mythic world of the Classic of Mountains and Seas, a realm where ancient gods, demons, and forgotten powers collide. Players take the role of the Abyssal Dragon, a fallen general named Xuanlong who returns to a world torn apart by catastrophic floods and divine conflict. The game is developed and self-published by Justdan, and was revealed in June 2026.

Each attempt sends the Abyssal Dragon back into battle with a fresh choice of weapons and a new set of abilities to discover. The game pairs fast, top-down combat with run-based progression, so that every defeat feeds into a stronger attempt on the next run.

Overview
The story follows the Abyssal Dragon, a once-celebrated general who was stripped of his name, cast into exile, and slain in battle. Through a forbidden curse, a surviving sliver of his soul seizes a new body and walks the mortal world again. See Story and Setting for the full premise and Gods and Mortals for the figures tied to his return.
In combat the Abyssal Dragon wields two weapon types at once, switching between them to build synergies and adapt on the fly. Enemies are drawn from ancient Eastern mythology, with gods, demons, and monsters standing between the player and the truth at the heart of the world. Read more on the combat system and the world drawn from classical mythology. The two weapons are drawn from five types in total, three melee and two ranged, and any pairing is allowed.
Three parts of the world have been named: Mount Buzhou, whose shattering the story turns on, the rapids of Longmen, and a set of outlying isles. Official descriptions also name four beings that inhabit the world. See The Mythic World for what has been described of each.
