Dinghai: The Ocean Pillar is structured as a roguelike. The Abyssal Dragon sets out on repeated runs, and each attempt brings new choices of weapons, abilities, and paths.

Progression is built around persistence through failure. As the developers describe it, every run brings new choices, and every death is a step toward something stronger, so setbacks feed directly into future attempts.
