Three Diablo V classes have been named: the returning Demon Hunter and Monk, and the all-new Plague Knight. Blizzard says these are only the first it will reveal, and it has given no total count.

The Plague Knight is the first all-new class announced for Diablo V, a heavily armoured figure described as the embodiment of walking death who spreads disease and then consumes it for power.

The caravan replaces towns and strongholds in Diablo V. It is a travelling band of survivors who act as vendors and companions, it can only move to places the player has already made safe, and the team says every sidequest comes from its members.

Diablo, Lord of Terror

In Diablo V the Lord of Terror has already won. He rules Sanctuary from the throne of Westmarch, is present from the first moment of the game rather than waiting at the end of it, and treats the fallen world as a stepping stone to invading the Heavens.

The Heir to Westmarch is the player character of Diablo V, a fugitive in a fallen kingdom who carries a mysterious bond with Diablo that is both an insight into him and a vulnerability to him.

Diablo V was announced on 12 September 2026 at BlizzCon 2026 in Anaheim, during the opening ceremony and then in a dedicated panel. No playable build was made available, so every published detail comes from the panel and the interviews around it.
