Don't Kill the Messenger investigates an abandoned camp south of Shepherd's Rest Shrine. The last clues require Compel Soul, so the route must be finished during the day.

Route
Stage | What to do |

Search the camp | Use Focus Mode and inspect the chopped log and footprints. They start a trail heading southwest. |
Take the horn | Follow the tracks and pick up the Severed Uriash Horn beside the bloodied wall. Carry it onward as a catalyst. |
Clear the wreckage | Defeat the angry Uriashi soldier at the end of the trail. This opens the area around the dead messenger for investigation. |
Question the corpse | Use Compel Soul on the dead man. Work through the Arrow, Well Maintained Scabbard and Severed Uriash Horn catalysts to finish the investigation. |
The horn is found along the route rather than at the corpse. Collecting it before the fight avoids having to retrace the trail after examining the other catalysts.
