Overview

Vaporwalker is a unique pair of boots in Crimson Desert that grants the Skipping Stones skill. When equipped, the wearer can glide across the surface of shallow water such as rivers, streams, and ponds. This makes the Vaporwalker one of the most useful exploration tools in the game, allowing players to cross bodies of water that would normally require swimming or detours.

The boots are hidden inside a cave behind a waterfall in the Ancient Rift area of Hernand, near the town of Pailune. Reaching them requires the Stab and Force Palm abilities.

How to Obtain

The Vaporwalker boots are found in the Ancient Rift area, southeast of Pailune. Look for the two waterfalls at the rift. Head to the left side of the waterfall and descend one level (do not jump all the way down). You will know you are at the correct spot when you see stacked rocks nearby.

From this ledge, use the Stab ability to dash through the waterfall and reach the hidden cave behind it. Inside, you will find a stone wall blocking the path. Use Force Palm to break through the wall. Proceed inside to find a golden chest containing the Vaporwalker boots.

Skipping Stones Mechanic

When equipped, the Vaporwalker boots grant the Skipping Stones ability that activates automatically when the player enters shallow water. Instead of swimming, the character glides rapidly across the water surface, covering significant distances quickly without draining stamina as fast as normal swimming.

• Works in shallow water only: Rivers, streams, and ponds. The boots do not function in deep ocean water.

• Fast traversal: The gliding speed is noticeably faster than standard swimming, making water crossings efficient and smooth.

• No combat requirement: The boots activate passively. There is no cooldown or manual trigger needed.

• Stamina efficient: Gliding across water drains less stamina than swimming, giving the Vaporwalker an edge for exploration.

Tips

• Both Stab and Force Palm are required to access the cave, so make sure these abilities are unlocked before visiting.

• The Ancient Rift is accessible relatively early in the game, making the Vaporwalker a strong pickup for exploration-focused players.

• Combine with movement speed equipment like Rabbit Cloth Boots in your inventory for optimal overworld traversal (swap between them depending on terrain).

• The boots are a one-time find. They cannot be purchased from merchants or crafted.
