Overview

The Scorchflame Plate Armor is a chest armor piece in Crimson Desert and the only armor in the entire game that provides a Critical Rate bonus. It starts with Critical Rate Lv.2, making it an essential pickup for any player focused on armed combat builds. While it functions as a standalone equippable piece, its primary long-term significance is as a required crafting component for the Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor, which upgrades the Critical Rate to Lv.3.

The armor is hidden inside the Golden Trading Post in the Delesyia region (Demeniss area), accessible through a secret passage that requires crouching to enter. Because it can be obtained as early as Chapter 3 with no story progression required, players should make this one of their first priority pickups.

How to Obtain

The Scorchflame Plate Armor is found at the Golden Trading Post in the Demeniss region. The trading post is located just north of Demeniss, between the 'E' and 'D' in the Demeniss label on the map.

Step-by-Step

• Travel to the Golden Trading Post north of Demeniss.

• Look for a spot between two staircases where there is a small wooden panel at ground level.

• Crouch and walk into the wooden panel. Your character will slip through to the other side.

• Inside the hidden room, open the chest to obtain the Scorchflame Plate Armor.

The entrance is easy to miss on a casual walkthrough. Look carefully for the wooden panel; it does not stand out from the surrounding architecture.

Critical Rating Significance

The Scorchflame Plate Armor stands out from every other armor piece in Crimson Desert because it is the only armor that provides Critical Rate as a built-in stat. No other chest piece, helmet, gloves, cloak, or boots in the game comes with Critical Rate on its own.

This matters enormously for armed combat builds. In Crimson Desert, Critical Rate placed on armor through Abyss Gears does not count toward armed combat damage. The only way to make your armor's Critical Rate apply to armed weapon strikes is through innate Critical Rate stats like the one on this armor. This makes the Scorchflame Plate Armor (and its upgraded Kuku version) irreplaceable for armed combat players looking to maximize critical hit chance.

At its base form, the armor provides Critical Rate Lv.2. Upgrading it into the Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor at the Kilnden Workshop increases this to Critical Rate Lv.3. Since critical hits can double your attack damage, even a small increase in critical chance has a significant impact on boss fights and difficult encounters.

Early-Game Accessibility

Unlike many rare equipment pieces that require progressing deep into the story, the Scorchflame Plate Armor can be picked up as early as Chapter 3. No quest completion or story milestone is required. Players simply need to travel to the Golden Trading Post in the Delesyia region and locate the hidden entrance.

This early availability makes it one of the most valuable pickups in the first half of the game. Equipping it immediately gives your character Critical Rate Lv.2, a stat that would otherwise be unavailable on any armor piece. Players running armed combat builds should prioritize grabbing this armor before tackling difficult bosses or venturing into higher-level zones, as the critical hit chance bonus provides a noticeable damage boost from the start.

Crafting Use

The Scorchflame Plate Armor is one of the required materials for crafting the Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor at the Kilnden Workshop. The full recipe requires:

• Enhanced Kuku Pot

• Scorchflame Plate Armor (this item)

• Core of Absolution (from the Sanctum of Absolution)

• Abyss Cores (from Abyss enemies)

The Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor provides Critical Rate Lv.3 on a chest piece, which is unique. Because it is equipped in the armor slot (not an accessory slot), the Critical Rate applies directly to the character's overall stats. This makes it one of the most efficient sources of Critical Rate available.
