Rich Red Dye is a dye in Crimson Desert that produces a deep, saturated red tone when applied to armor and equipment. It belongs to the red dye family, which includes Bright Red Dye, Red Dye, Dark Red Dye, and Deep Red Dye. Rich Red Dye sits between the standard Red Dye and Dark Red Dye on the shade spectrum, offering a warm, vivid red that is visually distinct from the brighter and darker alternatives.
World location: Stolen from the top of the Torchlight Beacon in Hernand. The dye is placed on a ledge or platform at the beacon's summit. Reaching it may involve climbing or finding a path to the top.
Craft: Crafted at a cauldron once the recipe is known.
Ingredient | Quantity | Where to Find |
|---|---|---|
10 | Hernand woodlands; very common in large patches | |
3 | Found on trees in Hernand woodlands | |
2 | North of Hernand near cliffs and trees | |
1 | Hernand woodlands; found on tree bark |
Crafting Station: Cauldron
Compared to the standard Red Dye (which uses 1 Longhorn Beetle and 1 Stag Beetle), Rich Red Dye uses 2 Longhorn Beetles and 1 Stag Beetle. This slightly higher ratio of Longhorn Beetles pushes the hue toward a richer, more saturated tone.
Open your inventory and select "Use" on the Rich Red Dye. This permanently unlocks the associated shade at any dyehouse. Visit a Dyer NPC to apply it to your gear for a small fee.
The Torchlight Beacon in Hernand is a notable landmark. Climbing to its top rewards you with the Rich Red Dye, so keep an eye out for climbable surfaces.
If you already have the standard Red Dye, crafting the Rich Red variant requires only one extra Longhorn Beetle in the recipe.
All red dye variants share the same Peony and Rhinoceros Beetle base. Gather Peonies in bulk to craft the entire red family in one session.
