The Reins of Open Sky are a pair of Gloves in Crimson Desert. They offer a balanced combination of attack power and defensive capability, with 11 ATK and 3 DEF at base values. The gloves come with a Critical Rate Lv.1 bonus that improves the odds of landing critical hits in combat, along with an Increase Grip effect that helps the player maintain their hold during climbing sections.
These gloves are found inside the Arbodia Spider Cave, one of the game's exploration caves. Reaching the chest that holds them requires clearing a path through a cluster of spider eggs using a heavy attack. With two Abyss Core slots, the Reins of Open Sky allow for flexible stat customization depending on your build.

The Reins of Open Sky are found inside the Arbodia Spider Cave. The cave is populated by spider enemies, and the path to the gloves is blocked by a mass of eggs near the end of the cave. Players need to use a charged heavy attack to destroy the eggs and open the way forward. The chest containing the gloves sits in the chamber beyond.
Travel to the Arbodia Spider Cave. The cave entrance is located in the Arbodia region.
Fight through the spider enemies as you move deeper into the cave.
At the end of the main passage, you will encounter a wall of spider eggs blocking your path.
Use a charged heavy attack to break through the eggs and clear the passage.
Enter the hidden chamber and open the treasure chest to collect the Reins of Open Sky.
This bonus increases the player's base critical hit chance when attacking. Critical hits deal increased damage, making this effect useful for builds that focus on burst damage. The Lv.1 tier is a modest boost, but it stacks with other sources of critical rate from Abyss Cores, food buffs, and weapon effects.
The Increase Grip effect improves the player's ability to hold on during climbing. When scaling cliffs or walls, stamina drains more slowly with this bonus active. This is particularly helpful in areas with long vertical climbs, such as the mountain paths around Hernand and the highlands north of the city. The effect is passive and does not need to be activated manually.
The Reins of Open Sky can be upgraded through the Refinement system at any blacksmith. Each refinement level increases the base attack and defense stats of the gloves. There are 10 refinement levels in total. The materials needed for refinement depend on progression, starting with basic hides and ores and scaling up to rarer materials like Abyss Artifacts at higher levels.
At 11 ATK and 3 DEF, the Reins of Open Sky sit in the lower-to-mid range of Gloves stats. They are comparable to the Sunset Reed Cloth Gloves (11 ATK, 1 DEF, Attack Speed Lv.1) in attack power, but offer noticeably better defense and the Increase Grip utility. For players who want raw offensive power, the Hernand Ceremonial Guard Gloves (15 ATK, 4 DEF) are a stronger option. The Reins of Open Sky are best suited for players who value the climbing utility alongside serviceable combat stats.
The Increase Grip effect is unique among gloves. If you do a lot of climbing and exploration, these gloves are worth keeping in your inventory even after finding stronger alternatives.
Use the two Abyss Core slots to compensate for the moderate attack stat. Socketing attack-boosting or critical damage cores can bring the effective damage closer to higher-tier gloves.
The spider enemies inside the Arbodia Spider Cave are weak to fire. Bringing a weapon with a fire imbue or fire-based skills makes the cave easier to clear.
