The Obsession and Madness puzzle takes place during the Chapter 4 main quest objective "Find the One Responsible for the Rift" inside the Abyss. Players must cross a series of floating platforms by manipulating pillars with Axiom Force.
This puzzle is encountered automatically during the Obsession and Madness quest in Chapter 4. The area is inside the Abyss, accessed through the story progression.
Axiom Force (L3) to manipulate pillars and platforms
Force Palm (R3) to activate the final mechanism and assist with climbing
Use Axiom Force on the pillar to the right of the Abyss Nexus and lift it up. This triggers an aerial camera view showing the full puzzle path ahead.
Select the central pillar using the shoulder triggers (L2/R2 or LT/RT), then press the action button. Moving the nearest pillar draws your current platform toward it, allowing you to cross the chasm.
Continue selecting and activating the pillars closest to your position, methodically crossing all platforms toward the end goal. Walk along each pillar to locate the Axiom Force conductor slots for subsequent manipulations.
Once you reach the final pillar, climb to the top using the climbable walls. At the top, jump to the island and follow the steps up.
Approach the pressure platform and use Force Palm on it to trigger a cutscene, completing the puzzle sequence.
If you fall off a platform, you will respawn at the last checkpoint. Take your time lining up each pillar before jumping.
You can use Jump plus triple Force Palm (R3) in midair to propel yourself upward during the final ascent, which makes climbing much faster.
Cycle through targets with L2 until the correct pillar glows blue before activating it.
Completing this puzzle advances the main story. There are no standalone item rewards for this specific puzzle segment.
