Combined with Hernandian Stirrups and the Hernandian Champron (both unlocked by completing a fishing side quest from the Hernand notice board and then visiting a saddler vendor northwest of Hernand), it forms a solid mount gear setup before you reach later regions.

An early-game guide recommends equipping the Delmar Saddle and Silver Horseshoes first (available southeast of Fernand), then adding the Hernandian pieces once unlocked. This gives you a fully kitted-out horse with improved attack, health, and stamina recovery well before the 30-hour mark.
