Overview

The Dark Marksman's Plate Cloak is a Cloak in Crimson Desert. This plate cloak offers 3 DEF and Fire Resistance Lv.3, making it a solid defensive option for fire-heavy encounters. What sets it apart from other cloaks is its distinctive visual design: when equipped, this cloak applies a built-in helmet appearance that overwrites the visual of whatever Headgear the player currently has equipped. This means the Dark Marksman's Plate Cloak effectively changes your character's entire upper-body look, not just the cape.

Fire Resistance Lv.3 provides moderate protection against fire-based attacks and environmental hazards. For players who want higher fire resistance without changing their build, the Plate Cloak of the Shadows offers Fire Resistance Lv.7 instead.

Description

"A plate cloak once worn by Samara, the Sandwatcher. The fabric is heavily permeated with the stench of gunpowder. It was dyed with a pitch black color, making it impossible to tell if it is actually stained with gunpowder."

How to Obtain

The Dark Marksman's Plate Cloak is found inside Warrior's Soul Cave (also called the Warrior's Soul Cavern), a waterfall cave located along the Denn River in Drywind Valley, Delesyia. The cave is on the right side of the map, northeast of Demeniss, near a rail track.

To reach the cloak, follow these steps:

• Travel to the Denn River: Head north from Drywind Valley toward the river. The waterfall entrance is along the Denn River, northeast of Demeniss.

• Find the waterfall: Look for a waterfall along the river. The cave entrance is hidden directly behind the falling water.

• Use the Stab ability: Stand in front of the waterfall and use Stab (R1 + Triangle on PlayStation) to pierce through the waterfall and enter the cave. You cannot simply walk through the waterfall without using this ability.

• Open the treasure chest: Inside Warrior's Soul Cave, you will find a treasure chest containing the Dark Marksman's Plate Cloak.

No enemies guard the chest, so obtaining this cloak is a straightforward free pickup once you reach the cave.

Built-in Helmet Appearance

The Dark Marksman's Plate Cloak has a unique cosmetic property: when equipped, it applies its own built-in helmet visual that replaces the appearance of your currently equipped headgear. Your headgear stats remain unchanged, but the visual is overridden by the Dark Marksman helmet design. This gives the cloak a more complete, full-outfit look compared to other cloaks that only cover the shoulders and back.

Some players prefer the Dark Marksman aesthetic over higher-tier headgear like the Plate Helm of the Shadows, especially for screenshot and fashion purposes. The visual override does not affect gameplay stats in any way.
