Overview

Anglerfish is a deep-sea predator in Starsand Island, found in the Luminwave zone. The Luminwave is a bioluminescent deep-sea area accessible by yacht or the Parrot Ship from Starsand Port. True to its real-world counterpart, the Anglerfish has a bioluminescent lure used to attract prey in the deep darkness. It is a night-only species, appearing exclusively after 20:00, which makes it one of the trickier deep-sea catches to plan around. At 207 Coins per fish, the Anglerfish is one of the more valuable standard (non-King) deep-sea catches.

Catch Details

The Anglerfish is available year-round and in any weather, but its catch window is limited to the late evening hours from 20:00 to midnight. This 4-hour window means you need to time your deep-sea trips carefully. Arrive at the Luminwave before 20:00 so you can start fishing the moment the Anglerfish becomes active.

How to Catch

To reach the Luminwave, board the Parrot Ship or rent a yacht (150 Coins per hour) at Starsand Port. The Luminwave is one of three deep-sea fishing zones. Equip Meat Bait (also called Minced Fish Bait, crafted from Flour and Fish Fillet) and chum the water after 20:00. Bring at least a Noble Rod or better; the starter Wooden Rod will struggle with deep-sea fish. The Anglerfish puts up moderate resistance on the line, so watch your tension indicator closely.

Cooking and Processing

Anglerfish can be processed into Fish Fillet at the Separator. Since Fish Fillet is the universal fish-based cooking ingredient, any Anglerfish you do not sell directly can fuel your recipe production:

At 207 Coins raw, the Anglerfish is already valuable on its own. Whether you sell it directly or process it depends on whether you need Fish Fillet for recipes or prefer the immediate payout.

Fish Pond

Anglerfish can be placed in a Fish Pond for breeding. It requires 3 oxygen units per fish, which is higher than most species. Make sure your pond has enough oxygen capacity before adding one. Stone Ponds handle the higher oxygen demands better than Small Ponds.

Tips

• The Anglerfish only appears after 20:00. If you are heading to the Luminwave for other fish, save your Anglerfish fishing for the end of the trip.

• At 207 Coins per catch, selling at the Merchant Ship yields 414 Coins per Anglerfish (200% value). This makes it one of the best raw-sell fish in the game.

• Bring plenty of Meat Bait for Luminwave trips. Most deep-sea fish require it, and running out mid-trip wastes valuable yacht rental time.

• The 3 oxygen cost for fish ponds means the Anglerfish takes up significant pond capacity. Consider keeping only a few for breeding.
