Overview

Alchemy Formula: Platinum is a consumable crafting recipe in Crimson Desert. It is a document detailing the method for creating Platinum, a rare silvery ore that is highly conductive to magical energy, used in crafting advanced alchemical catalysts and endurance enhancers. Learning this recipe is required before you can craft Platinum at a Witch NPC.

Where to Find

The formula is found inside the Scholastone Institute library, located in the mountains southwest of Hernand. You will visit this location relatively early through the Scholastone main quest chain (Chapter 4: The Price of Knowledge). The institute is accessible once you have progressed far enough in the story.

Step-by-Step Directions

1. Enter the Scholastone Institute through the main central entrance.

2. Run through the large courtyard corridor to the back of the building.

3. Approach the magical door at the rear. It will pulse and open automatically as you get close.

4. Inside the library, head to the back of the room and take either the left or right staircase to the second floor.

5. On the second floor, turn left and walk along the left-side balcony to the back corner.

6. The alchemy blueprint for Platinum sits on a bookshelf in the back corner. Pick it up.

7. Equip the scroll from your inventory and use your Lantern on it to learn the formula permanently.

What It Unlocks

Learning this formula enables crafting of Platinum at a Witch NPC using: 1 Gold Bar, 4 Brimstone, 3 Mercury, and 2 Holy Water. Platinum is used in endgame weapon and armor crafting recipes.
