The Dancer is the first publicly named Resonant in Control Resonant. The figure was shown at the end of the gameplay reveal trailer and is the only named Resonant in pre-launch material. Remedy has noted that the name is provisional and subject to change before launch.

The Dancer fights with a pair of mallets, one in each hand. Its movement reads as deft and quick, with attacks built around spins and wide swings rather than heavy committed strikes. The Dancer covers ground fast and pressures Dylan into reactive play.
Pre-launch footage shows Dylan handling the encounter in two ways:
Parrying the mallet swings to open the Dancer up for counter-strikes with the Aberrant.
Deflecting the mallets with a deployable shield, then exploiting the opening for a melee chain.
Using openings to land combo strings before the Dancer rotates back out of reach.
The fight is built around the same combat loop as the rest of the game. Melee strings build the combat ability resource; ability spends stun the Dancer and open it up for executions; executions grant the temporary damage buff that carries momentum into the next exchange. The Dancer's speed makes the resource-build phase harder than a slower boss, but the loop is the same.
As a Resonant, defeating the Dancer follows the standard Resonant-reward rules. The player is offered new combat abilities and picks which to take. Specific ability rewards tied to the Dancer have not been individually detailed pre-launch; the wider rule is up to three abilities offered per Resonant, with the player choosing which to slot. The New Game Plus mode opens the option to equip multiple abilities tied to the same Resonant in a single build, including any tied to the Dancer.
The Dancer's exact placement in the campaign has not been publicly confirmed. The trailer reveal frames it as the closing image of the gameplay debut, which suggests a high-profile encounter rather than an early-game introduction, but Remedy has not stated where in the story the player meets the Dancer or which Manhattan zone hosts the fight.
The Dancer's silhouette is its most readable feature: a masked figure with two mallets that moves like a performer. The aesthetic fits the boss class's framing as a remnant of a person who once held great power, now corrupted by the paranatural force loose in Manhattan. The dance metaphor extends to the fight pacing: long phases of motion punctuated by deliberate, weighty strikes.
