Federal Bureau of Control

The Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) is the paranormal containment agency at the heart of the Control series. It has returned in Control Resonant as the authority that governs the response to the paranaturally-altered Manhattan.

Role in Resonant

The FBC releases Dylan Faden from captivity specifically to help contain an escaped extradimensional entity that has taken control of downtown Manhattan. Dylan is a resource the Bureau had under supervision; with the crisis large enough, the Bureau has decided his parautilitarian abilities are worth deploying rather than keeping locked up.

Continuity

The FBC's involvement in Resonant positions the sequel as a direct continuation of the original Control's fiction rather than a soft reboot. The events of the first game, including the containment failures that opened the door for the current crisis, are part of the backdrop.
