Added three screenshots showing distinct biomes along the route
11The world is organised on two levels. Five large areas form the overall route, and each area holds several distinct zones with their own layouts, enemies, and resources. Travel between areas happens aboard the walking vessel rather than across a connected overworld, which is why the game reads as a sequence of self-contained regions rather than one continuous map.2233The route runs roughly east to west, starting in the Kanto Region and ending at the old capital. Official patch notes name several of these places directly, including the Fuji Frontier Zone, Pilgrim's Zone and its Belfry, Cave, and Stone Chamber sections, and Subcity 01.445+56The Five Areas6778AreaPosition on the RouteZones Named So FarKanto RegionWhere the journey beginsOgouchi Buffer Zone, Ogouchi Colony, Ancient Civilization ZoneMountainous RegionThe longest stretch by zone countThe Great Wall Terraces, Pilgrim's Zone, Matsukawa Zone, Fuji Frontier ZoneDrowned RegionMore compact than the second areaGiant Tree ZoneWasteland RegionThe threshold before the endgame, marked by the Wall of the WorldCrater Zone, the river zone, Starfall Tower ZoneThe CapitalThe endgame stretch and the destinationMount Hiei Zone, Capital Zone9+810Zones and What Happens in Them9111012ZoneAreaNotable ContentOgouchi Buffer ZoneKanto RegionThe opening zone, Subcity 01 through 03, the coloured keys, and the Rangifer fightsAncient Civilization ZoneKanto RegionFlooded ruins, an underground reservoir, and the Lacerta fightsThe Great Wall TerracesMountainous RegionThe first Shidou and Nue encounter and the heaviest shrine concentration in the gamePilgrim's ZoneMountainous RegionThe Belfry, the Cave, and the Stone Chamber, plus the first two Taurus fightsMatsukawa ZoneMountainous RegionThe Rangifer rematchFuji Frontier ZoneMountainous RegionThe Nue Malefact rematch and the second Shidou and Nue fightGiant Tree ZoneDrowned RegionVertical, platform-heavy terrain and both Corvus fightsCrater ZoneWasteland RegionThe Taurus rematch and the first Kunai and Kirin fightThe river zoneWasteland RegionThe Crimson Malefact fight. Clear the collectible categories, pick up the seedlings and manuals, and open the strongboxes before triggering the next departure. Koo makes this practical: he picks up the scent of nearby points of interest and marks them, and Keeper Golems mark specific finds on request.14171518The version 1.0.8 patch shortened the main route through Pilgrim's Zone so it runs directly to the Belfry, bypassing the Cave and Stone Chamber. Those sections are still there to explore, they are simply no longer on the critical path.16191720Related Pages18211922World and Setting covers the fiction behind the map, The Capital describes the destination, and Colonies and Blighted Forests cover the two kinds of place the route crosses between.
