11Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is built on the latest generation of Ubisoft's Anvil engine, the same engine version used for Assassin's Creed Shadows. The game takes advantage of current-generation hardware with raytraced global illumination, physically based rendering, modernized water simulation, and dynamic weather across its seamless open world.2233PS5 Performance Modes4455Three performance modes are available on PlayStation 5. The Balanced mode requires a display capable of 120Hz output.6677ModeTarget Frame RateNotesPerformance60 FPSPrioritizes frame rateFidelity30 FPSPrioritizes visual fidelity and ray tracing qualityBalanced40 FPSRequires a 120Hz display88PS5 Pro Features991010On PlayStation 5 Pro, Resynced offers higher overall fidelity, advanced ray tracing beyond the standard PS5 implementation, and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution 2.0 upscaling technology. The PS5 Pro version runs the same base game with these additional rendering enhancements applied automatically.11111212PC Specifications13131414ComponentMinimum (1080p / 30 FPS)Recommended (1440p / 60 FPS)CPUIntel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600GPUNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6GB VRAM)NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (12GB VRAM)RAM16GB16GBStorage65GB SSD65GB SSD1515PC performance scales from 1080p at 30 FPS on minimum settings up to 4K at 60 FPS on maximum settings on suitable hardware. The recommended configuration targets 1440p at 60 FPS. A software ray tracing option is available for hardware without dedicated ray tracing acceleration. A 4K target on Ultra settings calls for top-end hardware (Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 class GPU). All PC tiers require Windows 10 or Windows 11 64-bit, 16GB of system RAM, and 65GB of SSD storage. DirectX 12 is required.16161717Console Features18181919On PlayStation 5, the game supports DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, Tempest 3D audio, and Dolby Atmos across supported configurations. The open world loads with no visible loading screens between areas. Raytraced lighting with global illumination is active across all PS5 performance modes.20202121Running ray tracing alongside a 60 FPS Performance mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X is a first for this generation of the Anvil engine. The studio has noted that the previous Anvil title did not offer ray tracing at 60 FPS on those consoles, and that Resynced is a more demanding game to render, which makes the combination notable on current hardware.22222323Steam Deck and SteamOS24242525Resynced is Steam Deck Verified at launch, so it runs on Valve's handheld out of the box with readable text, full controller support, and appropriate default settings. The game is also SteamOS Compatible, which extends the same verified experience to other SteamOS devices. Ray tracing and dynamic weather stay active in the Steam Deck build, keeping the core visual upgrades intact on handheld hardware.26262727Engine Technology28282929The latest generation of Anvil powers the technical foundation of Resynced. Key technology includes physically based rendering for consistent material behavior under varied lighting conditions, modernized water rendering and ocean simulation, a dynamic atmosphere system that drives real-time weather changes, and raytraced global illumination that affects lighting throughout the world. These systems work together to produce an environment that responds to time, weather, and player actions in ways that were not possible in the 2013 original.30303131Languages and Installation32323333Resynced ships with full support across thirteen languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), and Russian. The PC installation requires 65GB of SSD storage. PC builds use Denuvo anti-tamper and require a Ubisoft Account, with a five-device activation limit.34343535Download sizes vary by platform. The console download requires 64.13 GB, and the PC version requires roughly 65 GB of free space. Ubisoft has stated that the game must be installed on a solid-state drive on every platform, so a mechanical hard drive is not sufficient. On Xbox Series X and Series S, players who pre-ordered the game were able to start pre-loading the files on June 22, 2026, ahead of the July 9 launch. On PlayStation 5 and PC, pre-loading opens on July 7, 2026, two days before the July 9 launch.36363737Known Issues at Launch38383939Ubisoft flagged several issues at launch and said fixes were rolling out. On PC, cutscenes could be capped at 30 FPS when Raytracing, BVH, or Terrain Quality was set to Ultra High. The temporary workaround was to reset the graphics Overall Preset to any pre-configured setting and avoid setting those three options to Ultra High manually. Some territories also reported localization and voice-over problems, and a few players initially could not find their local language pack. The language-pack workaround was to close the game, close and reopen Steam, then reselect the language. Ubisoft resolved these issues in Title Update 1.0.4 on July 16, 2026, covered in the next section.40404141Post-Launch Updates42424343On July 16, 2026, Ubisoft released Title Update 1.0.4, the first numbered post-launch patch. It fixed the PC issue where cutscenes were locked to 30 FPS on Custom graphics settings, resolved localization problems in Simplified Chinese, Italian, and Arabic, and corrected a dubbing issue that affected voice-over and cutscene visuals in localized versions. The update also fixed a double-jump exploit tied to the advanced parkour option, a bug where upgrading the Jackdaw while docked could make the ship disappear, and multiple save, load, lighting, and stability issues. It rebalanced the dynamic weather system to favor clearer skies and fixed a case where foggy weather never triggered. Download sizes were about 15.35 GB on Xbox Series X and Series S, 2.44 GB on PlayStation 5, and 3.71 GB on PC.44+45+Title Update 1.0.5 followed on July 22, 2026 as a PC-only patch aimed at the stuttering some players had reported after launch.46+47+Title Update 1.0.6 released on August 4, 2026 at 14:00 UTC. It added a Hide Gear toggle so the blowpipe can be removed from Edward's back, raised the autosave slot count from five to ten, and fixed the remaining case where PC cutscenes could lock to 30 FPS when graphics settings were switched to Custom from a Low preset. Other fixes covered underwater lighting, assassination camera work, ragdoll and animation issues, missing audio, Simplified Chinese font readability, Arabic menu alignment, and a case where PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution failed to enable when the same account moved from a PS5 to a PS5 Pro. Download sizes were about 15.2 GB on Xbox Series X and Series S, 5.03 GB on PlayStation 5, 3.7 GB on PC, and 1.8 GB on Steam.48+49+Accessibility Options50+51+The PC release lists a broad accessibility feature set. Text and interface options cover adjustable text size, subtitle options, and captions, and menus can be read aloud through narrated game menus. Input options include a keyboard-only mode, a mouse-only mode, and full remapping, and the game can be played without timed input, so no action depends on holding or repeatedly pressing a control against a timer. Camera comfort settings are available for players sensitive to motion, colour alternatives help with colour vision differences, and volume controls can be adjusted per channel. Difficulty is adjustable and, as covered above, split across combat, naval combat, stealth, and activities so each can be tuned on its own. Saving is available at any time, and the game supports stereo and surround output as well as HDR.
