Prismana and Umbral Aniimo

Added the pigment vendor route and planned Sparkling Hue options
Not every Aniimo of a species is the same creature. Beyond the ordinary version there are rarer variants, and the game tracks several of them independently, so the same species can be collected in a number of genuinely different versions. Prismana and Umbral are the two headline rarities.
Prismana is a rare Form rather than a separate species. Twenty-seven index entries have one as of September 17, 2026, which makes it the largest of the alternate Forms, and a Prismana Form usually carries a different elemental pairing from the creature’s ordinary Basic Form, which is what makes it worth chasing rather than just worth looking at. Two of the twenty-seven, Somniwing and Irisalis, exist only as a Prismana Form with no Basic Form of their own. Prismana is also the only route by which an ordinary creature picks up the Holy affinity: the Umbrabow Form used to be the other one, and no entry in the index carries an Umbrabow Form any more.
Prismana Forms are obtained through a system built around Prismatic Energy. Nurturing an area's ecosystem raises its Prismatic Energy, and nurturing carries a chance to trigger a Prismana Flow, which is the event that produces a Prismana creature. At launch that base chance is flat: an early change that reduced the odds when Prismatic Energy was low was removed, so a first nurture and a hundredth nurture have the same base chance. A guarantee system sits on top of that so the outcome is not purely luck.
Catching feeds the same loop. A lucky strike while catching grants items, raises the area's Prismatic Energy, and can trigger a Prismana Flow outright.
Season-exclusive Prismana creatures exist and follow their own spawn rules, which were reworked for launch.
Prismana eggs also arrive from two places outside the nurturing loop. RV dispatches can produce eggs carrying the Prismana trait, and the paid pre-order Companion Handbook includes an exclusive Prismana egg that hatches at the Outpost Hatchinator into a Prismana Form creature with Perfect Potential.
Umbral Aniimo are new to the launch build. They carry Perfect Potential and a distinctive colouration, which makes them visually identifiable rather than something you have to inspect a stat sheet to notice.
They appear two ways: through Wild Surges triggered by ecosystem nurturing, and by chance out in the open world. Offering quality no longer influences Wild Surge quality, so a Wild Surge is a Wild Surge regardless of what was offered.
Two further rarity markers sit alongside the Forms.
Marker | What It Means |
|---|---|
Sparkling | A rarity flag on an individual creature, tracked separately from its Form. Creatures caught with a Sparkling Cube have guaranteed Perfect Potential. |
Alpha | A separate category of individual creature named by the studio alongside Sparkling. |
Both were eligible for the beta's egg-sealing event where Prismana Form creatures were not, which is a useful signal that Sparkling and Alpha are individual-level flags while Prismana is a Form-level one.
Every individual creature also carries an Acquired Potential rating that grades its aptitude. The top grade is called Perfect Potential, also written as Perfect Aptitude. Ratings run on a scale where 9/9 and 10/10 are described as high potential, and the wild spawn rate for creatures at those grades was increased for launch.
Potential is independent of Form and of rarity. A creature can be an ordinary Basic Form with Perfect Potential, or a Prismana Form with a mediocre one, which is why the catching tools that guarantee potential are worth spending.
Property | Scope | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Form | Per species | Basic, Prismana, and the biome and weather Forms. Nineteen Form names are published and seventeen of them carry entries. Unlocked individually in the Aniilog. |
Sparkling | Per individual | A rarity flag. |
Alpha | Per individual | A separate category. |
Acquired Potential | Per individual | Graded, with Perfect Potential at the top. |
Umbral | Per individual | Carries Perfect Potential and distinctive colouration by definition. |
Because these are tracked independently, completing a species is not one job. A Pathfinder chasing everything is collecting a Form set, a rarity set, and a potential grade all at once.
A Prismana Orb changes an owned Breezy Plains Aniimo into a Prismana Form already unlocked for that species. It retains the creature's Acquired Potential, mutations and personality. Unlock the destination first, then use Aniimo Management, Info and Change Form to select it.
The seasonal Stamp Shop offer costs 900 Windborn Stamps after 7,000 Stamps have been spent. Reaching the threshold unlocks the offer; the purchase still costs another 900. Check the active seasonal offer and remaining stock.

Prismana Crystal is a Legendary material that can immediately trigger Prismana Flow in an eligible area. Earn it through the Prismana Radiance reward track by progressing the Nurture Branch with Lumin Ambers. Exploration, Sanctums, and Alpha or Omega encounters supply those Ambers.
The selected area needs at least 70% collection and its Silver Collection Badge. Open Nurture Branch, choose Change Weather, select the eligible area, then confirm Change Weather. Check the current regional state before committing the crystal.
An Outpost Vendor exchanges 5 Sparkling Sigils for 1 Sparkling Pigment. This Legendary Mutation Mark randomizes the hue of an eligible creature that is both Sparkling and a Prismana Form. Its random reroll is separate from the announced ability to select previously unlocked hues; keep the update status described in the current patch notes in mind.
At the Breezy Plains Outpost, Joff stands beside the Research Console. Open his Item Exchange to find Sparkling Pigment, then use the pigment from Inventory on an eligible Sparkling Prismana Aniimo.
The Sparkling Hue redesign is planned for an upcoming update. These preview details are dated October 27, 2026.
Feature | Planned Behavior |
|---|---|
Interface | Sparkle Infusion, Hue Reroll, Hue Swap, and Use Legendary Aniipod. |
Unlocked Hues | Keeps unlocked hues permanently, including the hue the individual had when caught. Unlocks are not shared with other Aniimo of the same species. |
Hue Swap | Switching to an unlocked hue costs Credits. |
Hue Reroll | Uses Sparkling Pigments. Rolling an already unlocked hue gives 2 Sparkling Sigils instead. |
Replaces an eligible Sparkling Prismana Aniimo's catching device without changing Acquired Potential. The function cannot be used on Irisalis, Helion, or Lunara. | |
Sparkling Original | Adds a color scheme that can be selected without spending Credits. |
