A.C.D. (Anti-Chaos Directorate)
September 9, 2026 at 10:50 AM
Merged the separate Anti-Chaos Task Force page in: no official source uses that name, so the invented Directorate/Task Force split was removed and the two pages became one. Added the official spelling variants, the Yeet Squad framing, DK9, and the N.C.C.A. Aegis Nexus distinction. Removed the unsourced claim that Shorewater Industries supplies the A.C.D.

The A.C.D. (Anti-Chaos Directorate) is the organization the player works for in Ananta. It is the body responsible for investigating and containing Chaos, the supernatural force destabilising Nova City. The player character, the Captain, leads its task force.
Official English copy also refers to the same organization simply as a special task force, and the Captain is described as the captain of the ACD task force. There is no separate agency behind that phrase: the Chinese, Japanese and Korean text all render one body, a countermeasures bureau, with a detachment inside it that the player leads.
The full name is given as Anti-Chaos Directorate in the publisher announcement that introduced the game under its current title. Official materials are not consistent about the punctuation of the abbreviation, so all three forms below are genuine rather than errors to correct.
Form | Where it is used |
|---|---|
A.C.D. | Publisher announcements, including the release-date announcement. Best attested, and the form paired with the full expansion. |
A.C.D | In-world posts on Scope, the setting’s social platform. |
ACD | The game’s own interface and character text. |
This wiki uses A.C.D. in running text.
When the Captain arrives in Nova City, the A.C.D. task force has been disbanded. In-game character text describes the organization as crumbling, with street gangs pressing in on it. The main story involves rebuilding the team from scratch, starting with Taffy and adding more characters through story progression and exploration.
The team the player rebuilds is the Yeet Squad. The publisher presents it as something the player assembles rather than an existing unit to join: the player meets characters with their own stories and quests, builds relationships, recruits allies, and unlocks items, badges and combat abilities along the way. Taffy is described in her own character text as a founding member of the squad, and the Captain is its captain.
The A.C.D. is one of several bodies the player takes work from. Mission-giving factions named together in official material are the N.C.C.A., DK9 and Cat Express.
Organization | Relationship to the A.C.D. |
|---|---|
Nova City’s police force, and a separate organization. Richie is the one confirmed launch character whose profession sits with it. One official trailer caption spells the abbreviation NCAA; that is a typo for N.C.C.A. and is not a second agency. | |
DK9 | A faction the player runs missions for, named in the same official line as the N.C.C.A. and Cat Express. Nothing further about it has been published. |
A courier outfit. Taffy’s delivery work runs through it. | |
Named in official materials in connection with Seymour. Its nature has not been described. | |
The company Mechanika works for. No relationship between the company and the A.C.D. has been stated in any published material. |
The words task force are not exclusive to the A.C.D. In-world reporting on Scope attributes an Aegis Nexus Task Force to the N.C.C.A., which responds to incidents alongside A.C.D. agents. The two should not be confused.
The Captain leads the task force. Dialogue choices during recruitment scenes and bonding events route through the Captain’s perspective. Team management is light in current materials: there is no confirmed loadout or rota mechanic, but the team the player builds drives which combat verbs and traversal tools they can swap into. See Team Switching for how that works in play.
The A.C.D.’s formal place in Nova City government, its chain of command above the Captain, its headquarters, its funding, and its legal relationship to the N.C.C.A. have not been described in any official material as of September 2026. Its full agent roster at launch has not been announced either.
