ZOOPUNK is built around a cast of animal heroes rather than a single protagonist. Three are confirmed and playable, a fourth has been teased without being named, and a few additional names have surfaced in official material with nothing attached to them. This page collects what has actually been said about each. Their fighting styles are covered in more depth on Combat.
Confirmed Playable Heroes
Hero | Species | Role | Confirmed Details |
|---|---|---|---|
Rayton | Rabbit | Fast melee | Agile and fast-paced, specialising in close combat. Builds energy through aerial combos, then unleashes electrically charged attacks. Shown fighting with twin whips. He is also the protagonist of F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch, set decades later |
Braton | Rhino | Heavy melee | A powerhouse brawler and the team's frontline anchor, with powerful defensive abilities. His weapon has been described both as a massive chainsaw and as a massive flame sword in different official materials |
Trixie | Chipmunk | Ranged | Nimble and precise, relying on acrobatics and hit-and-run tactics. Combines stylish gunplay with ammunition management |
Rayton
Rayton is the character the studio leads with. He appeared alone in the January 2025 announcement material, he was the focus of four of the five short clips posted around the November 2025 reveal, and he is the one the other two heroes join rather than the other way around. Those clips give him a stubborn, quiet characterisation. In one, his vehicle is destroyed on the road, he lands on his feet and keeps going, saying only that he is not stopping. In another the whole clip hangs on him saying "Give it back" before a fight starts. His combat identity is speed and electricity, with aerial pressure feeding the charged hits.
Braton
Braton is the heavy of the group. Official descriptions give him powerful defensive abilities alongside his damage and place him at the front of the team. He arrives partway through one November 2025 clip alongside Trixie, dropping into a fight from above. Beyond his role and his weapon, which official material has described inconsistently, almost nothing has been said about him. There is no backstory, no faction and no stated relationship to Rayton.
Trixie
Trixie is the ranged member, described as nimble and precise and built around acrobatics, hit-and-run positioning and gunplay with an ammunition economy attached. She was introduced in the same clip as Braton, and a short gameplay clip focused on her was released with the November 2025 reveal. As with Braton, no story details about her have been made public.
The Serval
The gamescom 2026 trailer ended with a first glimpse of a fourth figure, a serval, whom the studio described as a mysterious fourth protagonist whose identity is left for fans to speculate on. That wording is the only thing confirmed about the character. No name, no fighting style and no story role has been given, and the studio has not said outright that the serval is playable, only that it is a protagonist.
Other Names in Official Material
Two further names, Tron and Garmadon, appear in the game's official promotional metadata alongside Rayton, Braton and Trixie, in both the English and Chinese versions. Neither has been shown in a trailer and neither has a stated role, so it is not known whether they are allies, enemies, or whether one of them is the serval. A third name, Lee, appears in the studio's own caption for one of the November 2025 clips, in which Lee steps in and sparks fly after Rayton's vehicle is wrecked. That reads as an opponent or a rival rather than a companion, but it has not been confirmed. All three names should be treated as unexplained until the studio introduces the characters properly.
