Removed repeated body wikilinks, keeping the first occurrence of each target
11The Roller is the cheapest fighting body in the Xol roster and the busiest one, a Tier 1 ground unit that arrives two at a time from the Gyroforge for 50 hexite. Eighty health and a four damage beam do not look like much on their own, and they are not meant to. A Roller is simultaneously a skirmisher, a passenger, a projectile and a component: two of them merge into an Echo, three into a Gravitron, one transforms into a Havoc, eight ride inside that Havoc as cargo, and five can be picked up and thrown by an Eradicator. No other unit in the game is folded into so many other things.2233When it is not firing the Roller collapses into a sphere and rolls, which doubles its movement speed. That single behaviour is what makes the merge economy work, because banked Rollers can cross a map faster than they can fight across it.4455Figures below describe the September 2026 Early Access build, the one carrying the identifier ZS.c36778, and they move with the weekly patch cadence. Roughly half the versus roster had a stat touched in the fortnight before that build was captured, so treat every number here as dated rather than permanent.6677Stat Block8899StatValueCost50 hexite for a pair, which is 25 hexite each. Its two behaviours, the rolling sphere and the mode switch, are properties of the unit and of the Molten Core rather than buttons on a command card.18181919Upgrades20202121There are no Roller specific upgrades. Two systems reach it anyway. The Molten Core spends 50 energy to put a Roller into molten mode permanently, and the World Forge carries six army wide upgrades of which a player picks three, each with two ranks, doubled for units standing near the Forge.22222323SourceCostEffectMolten Core50 energySwitches the Roller to molten mode, replacing Sentinel Ray with ShockwaveWorld Forge Armor200 flux, 60 seconds+1 armour per rank to every Xol army unitWorld Forge Damage200 flux, 60 seconds+10% weapon damage per rankWorld Forge Vitals200 flux, 60 seconds+10% health and shields per rankWorld Forge Weapon Range200 flux, 60 seconds+20% weapon range per rankWorld Forge Cooldown Reduction200 flux, 60 seconds+20% cooldown rate per rankWorld Forge Casting Range400 flux, 60 seconds+20% casting range per rank2424Conversion Costs25252626Replicate is the Xol conversion mechanic, paid out of the same top bar power pool as the Grell Infuse and the Legion Reanimate. Rather than buffing a unit it copies one, producing a second body from an eligible ally. Since the balance pass of August 11, 2026 it also works on molten units, at twice the usual power cost. Eligibility is not universal, and the tags on a unit record are what say which of the three conversions apply. The Roller is eligible for all three at an identical 1.25 power each, the cheapest conversion price on the faction and one of the cheapest in the game. Copying a Roller for 1.25 power is close to free, which is part of why the unit is treated as a resource rather than as a casualty.27272828Role29293030Read the Roller as banked material. Four damage on a 0.4 second cycle is ten damage a second, respectable for 25 hexite but irrelevant against anything with armour: two points of enemy armour cuts each hit to two, and three points takes it to the floor of one. Armour is a number as well as a type. It subtracts a flat amount from every incoming hit with a floor of 1 damage, so it blunts many small hits far more than one large one. A Roller ball therefore does well against unarmoured light targets and badly against the heavy ones, which is exactly the split the merge tree is designed to fix.31313232Molten changes the unit completely. Shockwave trades range 2 for range 1 and the ability to hit air, and pays for it with 50 damage on a one second cycle, doubled against Medium armour and splashed at full value over 3 range. A molten Roller that reaches a clumped Medium armoured line is dealing 100 damage per target per second. Getting it there is the whole problem, and the ability to roll at double speed is the answer the faction gives.33333434The other use is logistics. Rollers ride inside a Havoc, get thrown by an Eradicator and arrive Overclocked, and merge upward when the composition needs to change. Unmerge has been free on a 20 second cooldown since August 11, 2026, so splitting a merged unit back into Rollers is a mid fight decision rather than a last resort.35353636Faction Context37373838The Gyroforge is one of three Tier 1 production buildings, alongside the Spectral Foundry and the Xyther Assembler, and each of them unlocks Tier 1 mercenary hiring and leads to the Molten Core. Building a Gyroforge therefore commits a player to the Roller line, and through it to the Echo, the Gravitron and the Havoc, since all three are assembled from Rollers rather than produced directly. See Units for how the shared stat block is read across factions and Resources and Economy for how the top bar power pool fills.39394040Counters41414242Strong againstWhyUnarmoured light unitsFour damage a hit is only worth firing where armour is not eating most of it.Clumped Medium armour, in molten formShockwave doubles to 100 and splashes at full value over 3 range.Early harassment25 hexite per body and a doubled roll speed means Rollers get somewhere before anything expensive does.4343Weak toWhyAnything with 2 or more armourThe flat subtraction takes a four damage hit to two, or to the floor of one at 3 armour.Splash damageEighty health per body and an order that produces pairs makes Rollers a splash magnet.Air units, in molten formShockwave is ground only, so a molten Roller cannot answer a flier at all.4444Balance History45454646DateChangeAugust 11, 2026Molten Roller area of effect range increased from 200 to 300, which is 3 in display range.August 11, 2026Unmerge cost cut from 5 power to 0 and its cooldown from 60 seconds to 20, which changed how freely Rollers are recovered from merged units.4747Notes48484949The roster record for this unit is COMPLETE. Every core field is published.50505151One internal disagreement is worth flagging. The Molten Core building text summarises the molten Roller as losing its weapon and exploding on contact, damaging and slowing enemies. The unit record instead gives the molten form a named weapon, Shockwave, with full damage, range, cooldown and splash figures, and records no slow. Both descriptions come from the same data release. The named weapon is the more specific record and is what the table above reports, but the discrepancy is unresolved and a slow effect may exist that the weapon entry does not carry.52525353One naming trap is worth stating plainly: there used to be a separate Harvester armour type, and it was deleted on August 11, 2026 and folded into Medium. Every bonus that keyed off it was rewritten to read against Medium armour on the same day. The armour type no longer exists in any form, whatever a unit happens to be called.54545555Per unit numbers are drawn from a community maintained entity catalogue that the studio links from each of its own faction pages. It is the only place the full stat block is published, and it is not a studio document, so the figures are best read as careful community documentation of a build rather than as an official specification. Dated balance notes, by contrast, come straight from the studio patch posts.
