The Wagon Chest Key opens locked supply wagons parked at outposts and pulled along faction trade routes. The wagon cargo is usually a mix of Trade Goods categories: Provisions, Naval Supplies, and the occasional Munitions or Spirits crate.

Wagon Chest Keys drop from the wagon's escort, typically two to four Blackbeard Sailor or faction line guards plus a Sergeant leader. Clearing the escort and looting the leader is the standard way to access the cargo.
The Wagon Chest Key unlocks the cargo chest carried by faction supply wagons. These wagons sit parked at outposts and are escorted along overland trade routes between settlements. Each locked wagon holds a bundle of Trade Goods, the bulk commodities you can resell to faction merchants for Piastres. A single wagon is one of the more reliable early sources of stackable trade cargo because the haul is fixed loot rather than a low-percentage drop.
Cargo Category | Typical Contents |
|---|---|
Provisions | Food and consumable supply crates |
Naval Supplies | Rope, canvas, and ship upkeep stock |
Munitions | Powder and shot crates (occasional) |
Spirits | Rum and liquor crates (occasional) |
Clear the full escort before opening the chest. Leaving a Sergeant alive means the key may not drop, since the leader is the usual carrier.
Wagons respawn on a timer with their route, so the same road can be farmed for repeat Trade Goods runs.
The key is consumed when the chest is opened, so hold onto spares; the stack of 99 is generous because escorts drop them often.
