The Style Book: Brethren Flag Designs is a faction-themed cosmetic book that adds Brethren of the Coast flag designs to the Wharf customisation menu, including the Brethren of the Coast Flag itself. The designs are purely decorative and change no ship stats.
A Style Book is a one-time-read consumable. Right-click the book in the inventory to read it, and the entire set of designs it lists is added permanently to that character's Wharf customisation menu. After reading, the book is removed from inventory but the designs stay forever, applicable to any ship that character owns. Other characters in a shared base must each read their own copy.

Sold by the Brethren of the Coast Provisioner for 10 Guinea. Reputation with the Brethren of the Coast must reach the rank that opens the cosmetic stock at the provisioner before the book becomes available for purchase. Brethren cosmetics are bought with Guinea, the faction's premium currency, rather than Piastre.
This flag book is one of three cosmetic books that together dress a ship in full Brethren colours. Pair it with the Style Book: Brethren Sails Colors (which unlocks the scarlet Bloodflare sails) and the Style Book: Brethren Hull Colors for a matching hull. All three are sold by the same provisioner and gated behind the same reputation tier.
Each faction has its own flag book, and a stock set covers the neutral designs. The other faction flag books are the Style Book: Buccaneers Flag Designs, the Style Book: Privateer Flag Designs, and the Style Book: Smugglers Flag Designs. Notable individual flags found across the game include the Black Flag, Blackbeard's Flag, and the Captains of Tortuga Flag. Flags are flown from the ship; for shore decoration see Flagpoles and Banners.
Read the book at the dock before opening the Wharf customisation menu. Browsing for the new design before reading the book will leave the menu blank where the new options should be.
Style Books are bound to a character, not a base or a clan. If a friend wants the same designs they need to buy and read their own copy.
All cosmetic designs are stat-neutral. There is no in-game mechanical reason to prefer one design over another, only personal aesthetic and the visual signal it sends to other crews at sea.
