The Rogue Buccaneer's Flag is a ship cosmetic in Windrose featuring two crossed muskets with an hourglass and a skull. Applied at a Wharf to fly the Buccaneers' colours.

How to Apply

Sail to a player-built Wharf and dock the ship there. Approach the Wharf, open the Manage Ship menu, switch to the Customization tab, and select Rogue Buccaneer's Flag from the Flag option list. Customisation itself does not cost coin once the design is unlocked, so you can preview it on the hull and switch back at no charge.

Where to Find

Sold by the Rogue Buccaneers through their faction's matching Style Book on the flag designs page. Improving reputation with the faction by turning in Insignias or a Letter of Favor unlocks higher tier merchant stock at the Provisioner. The Style Book is read once to learn every flag design it contains, after which the flag stays available on all of that character's ships.

Properties

Historical Note

The faction's name comes from the historical buccaneers, a loose group of seventeenth-century hunters and raiders who lived off wild cattle and pigs on Hispaniola before turning to sea-raiding. Crossed muskets are a fitting choice of emblem because the long-barrelled musket was the buccaneer's signature weapon on land, used so effectively against the Spanish that it became part of their identity.

Tips

• Flag changes are visible to other players in PvE and PvP, so the design you fly is also a signal of which faction you currently care about.

• Designs are bound to the character that read the matching Style Book, not to a specific ship, so all of a character's owned ships can use any unlocked flag.

• A flag does not affect ship stats. It is purely cosmetic, so swap it freely without worrying about a damage or speed penalty.

• Stockpile a spare Letter of Favor before a reputation push; turning several in at once is the quickest way to reach the tier that opens the flag designs page.
