The Richards' Crew Key is a sturdy key for a sturdy pirate chest. It is found at the pirate base in the Coastal Jungle, attached to Captain Thomas Richards' chain of Blackbeard's Crew outposts. It belongs to the family of crew keys carried by Blackbeard Outposts officers, each key tied to the warband whose name it bears.

How to Get

Drops from Richards' Lieutenant and other Sergeant-tier officers at Coastal Jungle Blackbeard outposts. The key is a guaranteed-pool drop rather than a quest reward, so clearing the outpost officers is the reliable way to farm one. Multiple keys stack to 20, which matters because each locked chest consumes one key on opening.

What It Opens

The key opens chests scattered around the same Coastal Jungle outposts, including the chest pool that drops Plans: Woven Windows and Doors. Those chests sit inside the fortified camp area, so expect to fight through the outpost garrison before you can spend a key. The contents are part of the early base-building progression, which makes this key worth grabbing on any Coastal Jungle clear even if you are not chasing Thomas Richards himself yet.

It is one of two named warband keys in the region. The Hands' Crew Key works the same way for Israel Hands' outposts, so do not expect a Richards key to open a Hands chest or the reverse.
