Function and Placement

The Pillar (Weathered) is a vertical support in the Pillars and Beams group of Building Pieces. Pillars carry the weight of floors, beams, and upper storeys, and they let you raise platforms or open-sided structures without placing full walls. The weathered tier is an early option built from cheap Wood, so it is well suited to a first shelter or temporary scaffolding while you gather better materials.

Place pillars at the corners and along the spans of a floor, then rest a Beam (Timber) or other horizontal beam across their tops to frame the next level.

Properties

At 750 Max Health this pillar is one of the more fragile supports, in line with its low cost. For a base meant to last, upgrade load-bearing pillars to a sturdier tier once stone and ingots are available.
