Just a Flesh Wound is the baseline melee DR layer. Universal on any build expecting melee damage, which is every build since even boss fights carry melee threats.
An incoming Slash hit of 285 from a Goat Leader at rank 0 melee DR lands for 285. At rank 3 Just a Flesh Wound (-12% melee damage), the same hit lands for 251, a 34-damage reduction. Stacking Conquistador 2P (+15% DR) and Tracker 4P (+15% DR) brings the cumulative DR to 42% for a final hit of 165.
DR layers are additive across talent, armor set bonuses, and armor-piece base values. A Conquistador full-set Toughguy can reach roughly 60% total melee DR with this talent plus Flawless Defence.
Does not apply to ranged (Pierce) incoming damage from Musketeer and Grenadier spawns. Those are governed by different damage type rules.
