Append Blackbeard connection, camp layout, combat tips, reward detail
Jim Godart is a Blackbeard lieutenant and the leader of a large pirate camp targeted during the Catastrophe's Aftermath quest. Charlie Sharpe tasks the player with killing Godart before he can launch a raid on the refugees who fled the sacking of Tortuga.
Godart's camp is marked during Catastrophe's Aftermath. It is a large multi-section camp spread across a hill, held by pirate patrols at every level. He is not in the open; he must be reached by fighting through the camp.
Clear each hillside section one at a time. Grouping pulls is the main cause of death.
Ranged weapons reduce the count of minor pirates from outside aggro range.
Expect Blackbeard-aligned enemies including patrol Grenadiers, Juggernauts, and Pirate Sergeants.
Godart is tougher than standard pirates. Pull him alone, block with Perfect Block, and punish openings.
Defeating Godart counts toward completing Catastrophe's Aftermath. On completion, Charlie Sharpe grants 10x Letters of Favor and a significant People of Tortuga reputation boost.
Jim Godart is one of Blackbeard's lieutenants. Sportskeeda's Catastrophe's Aftermath walkthrough identifies him as "one of Blackbeard's minions" who is "planning to attack the refugees" who fled Tortuga after the initial Blackbeard-aligned raid that killed the governor. His threat is the entire reason Charlie Sharpe asks the player to intervene: preventing a second raid is the moral hook that justifies a hit-the-camp mission against a larger-than-usual pirate force.
Godart's camp is described across Deltia's Gaming and Sportskeeda as multi-tiered on a hillside. Pirate patrols occupy each tier, which is why aggroing one section pulls the adjacent section quickly. Godart himself is at the top, not at the entrance. Players who try to charge up the hill tend to get overwhelmed; the verified tactic is to clear section-by-section so that aggro pulls stay manageable.
Expect Blackbeard-aligned enemies at the patrol tiers: Grenadier, Juggernaut, and Pirate Sergeant. Grenadiers are the main threat because their grenade pattern hits through cover.
Godart himself is described in Deltia's Gaming as "a standard enemy that you can kill easily" once isolated. He is tougher than a baseline pirate but not a mechanically unique boss like Thomas Richards or Ghost Captain.
Pull Godart alone if possible. Ranged pistol or musket shots from outside the top tier can peel him off the nearby patrol pair.
Block with Perfect Block (timing window from Talent System) to punish his heavy swings. Stamina management matters: the hill terrain limits backpedaling and stun-lock can end a fight fast if you are caught on slopes.
Completing Catastrophe's Aftermath by killing Godart and returning to Charlie Sharpe grants 10x Letters of Favor and a significant People of Tortuga reputation boost. Letters of Favor are a faction-universal currency used to unlock higher-tier faction vendors. Godart does not drop a unique weapon. Deltia's Gaming's summary says "you'll receive items as your reward" but no itemized gear drop has been confirmed across multiple sources, so treat unique-drop claims with caution.
