Henry Every's Flag is a ship cosmetic in Windrose unlocked through the Privateer Flag Designs style book. It is applied at a Wharf to change the design flown from a ship's flagstaff, and it has no effect on performance.
The flag of a legendary pirate who seized untold riches, then vanished. Perhaps it will bring luck to another captain.
Sail to a player-built Wharf and dock the ship there. Approach the Wharf, open the Manage Ship menu, switch to the Customization tab, and select Henry Every's Flag from the Flag option list. Customisation itself does not cost coin once the design is unlocked. The flag occupies the dedicated Flag slot in the ship's customization options, separate from hull and sail colors.
Unlocked by reading Style Book: Privateer Flag Designs, a one-time use book sold by the Brethren of the Coast Provisioner for 10 Guinea.
Reading the book adds every flag in that set to the Wharf's flag option list permanently for the character that read it. Other characters in a shared base must each read their own copy.
That single book unlocks three privateer-themed designs at once: Henry Every's Flag, the British East India Company's Flag, and the Captains of Tortuga Flag. The book only appears in the Brethren of the Coast Provisioner stock once your reputation with the Brethren of the Coast has reached the rank that opens cosmetic goods.

The in-game flavour matches the historical Henry Every, sometimes spelled Avery, the English pirate captain who in 1695 led the capture of the Mughal treasure ship Ganj-i-Sawai. The haul was worth a fortune in coin, jewels, and silks, and is regarded as one of the largest single takes in the entire age of piracy. Every then vanished from the historical record, never positively identified again, and the mystery of where he went and what became of the treasure is what the in-game description plays on.
Flag changes are visible to other players in PvE and PvP, so the design you fly is also a signal of which faction you currently care about.
Designs are bound to the character that read the matching Style Book, not to a specific ship, so all of a character's owned ships can use any unlocked flag.
A flag does not affect ship stats. It is purely cosmetic, so swap it freely without worrying about a damage or speed penalty.
The same Provisioner trip can net the two sibling designs from the same book, the British East India Company's Flag and the Captains of Tortuga Flag. For the full range of cosmetic flags and poles, see Flagpoles and Banners.
Style Book: Privateer Flag Designs: the consumable that unlocks this flag and its two siblings.
Ship Customization: the full system for changing a ship's flag, hull, and sails.
Flagpoles and Banners: related cosmetic decorations for bases and piers.
Brethren of the Coast: the faction whose Provisioner sells the style book.
