The Hands' Crew Key is a sturdy key for a sturdy pirate chest. It is found at the pirate base in the Foothills, attached to Israel Hands' chain of Blackbeard crew outposts.

How to Get

Drops from Hands' Lieutenant and other Sergeant-tier officers at the Foothills Blackbeard Outposts. The key is the gate item for the chest cache that holds the Lost Cargo Journals investigation rewards. Officer spawns are not guaranteed on every clear, so expect to run the outpost loop more than once; clearing the surrounding patrols first makes the elite officer safer to fight.

What It Opens

The Hands' Crew Key unlocks the locked pirate chests scattered through Israel Hands' Foothills outposts. These chests sit behind elite guards at the back of each strongpoint and form part of the same loot loop that supplies Blackbeard Outposts caches. The matching key for the other captain is Richards' Crew Key, which works only on Coastal Jungle chests; the two keys are not interchangeable, so carry the right one for the region you are clearing. The key stacks up to 20, so spare copies can be saved for repeat visits.
