Ficus Sapling is a ground planted tree sapling in Windrose and the plantable form of Ficus. Unlike Seedbed crops it grows directly on any open soil tile inside the player's base footprint and does not require a Seedbed structure, so it can be clustered densely in an outdoor grove as a low maintenance source of Wood.

Summary

Planting

Walk up to clear ground inside the player's base with the sapling in inventory and select Plant from the radial menu. The sapling locks into place and starts the growth timer immediately. It takes roughly 70 minutes of real time to reach full size, and growth continues even while the player is offline. Because it places on open ground rather than in a Seedbed, a Ficus grove does not compete for Seedbed slots and needs no Fertile Soil.

Harvest

A mature Ficus tree is chopped for Wood and refunds at least one Ficus Seeds for replanting, so a seeded grove is self sustaining: one seed in, one seed out plus the material. The harvest cycle matches the other ground trees, which makes a cluster of Ficus behave like a quiet, steady Wood engine once it is seeded.

Mature trees do not auto respawn after chopping. Replant a fresh sapling on the same tile to refill the slot.

Where to Find Saplings

Saplings drop from harvesting wild Ficus trees in the Coastal Jungle and on the outer islands, often in the jungle and Foothills transition zones alongside other tree clusters. There is no vendor that sells tree saplings; foraging is the only source.
